Hello, Turnpost and a belated welcome to Wikipedia! I see that you've already been around awhile and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which help one get the most out of Wikipedia. If you have any questions you can ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking or by typing four tildes "~~~~"; this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you are interested in learning more about contributing, you might want to consider being "adopted" by a more experienced editor or joining a WikiProject to collaborate with others in creating and improving articles of your interest. Click here for a directory of all the WikiProjects. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field. Happy editing! Red Director (talk) 23:19, 20 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Abelmoschus Esculentus. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Glastonbudget— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help Desk. Thanks. Protection templates

[edit]

Please do not put protection templates on an unprotected page. Specifically Glastonbudget. Thank you Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 01:07, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Wikipedia:Help Desk, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 01:24, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You used the terms "libellous" and "slanderous" in a comment on the help desk. I'm contacting you here as a friendly caution, instead of replying there. I think you should try to avoid anything that may be construed by others as a "legal threat". You especially do not want to be distracted by this when you may have ongoing unfriendly interactions with another editor, as that editor might bring up our WP:LEGAL policy, which could result in an immediate block if the wrong admin notices it and agrees. Instead, argue your case based on our policy about biographies of living persons (WP:BLP), which requires a high standard of referencing and relevance when negative information is added to any article. I have no idea about the facts in this case and I don't wish to get involved, but I don't want you to be blocked until you have a change to resolve the issue. You will probably get better results by trying to remain as civil as possible, even if the other guy does not. -Arch dude (talk) 04:06, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, Turnpost, does not meet our username policy.
Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.
A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this notice, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:25, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
