Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Turthteller, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was David L. Katz, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 00:05, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Block evasion

[edit]

It appears likely that this account was created by a person who has been blocked. If that is the case, please work though the blocked account to get unblocked. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 00:00, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Turthteller (talk) 00:04, 4 February 2018 (UTC)Why has my account already been blocked?Turthteller (talk) 00:04, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
What was the prior account you were using? —C.Fred (talk) 00:05, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Turthteller (talk) 00:21, 4 February 2018 (UTC) This is my very first account, and have done research on this person and can tell for certain there are several errors and inaccuracies. Looking at the page history I can see that some people have tried to make edits but they have been rejected for some reason or another. I do know the person that legally represents David L. Katz and they would like a chance to correct the page with the correct information. I would be more than happy to create an updated fact-checked page. with independent sources and links to the reference materials, for your review prior to deletion or redirection. Would this be an acceptable solution? As I have no profit to gain other than giving corrected information to the public, is this not the reason for Wikipedia? Turthteller (talk) 00:21, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

And what reliable sources would you be citing with this "correct information"? —C.Fred (talk) 00:23, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Turthteller (talk) 00:26, 4 February 2018 (UTC) His agent, Legal Counsel, Book agent, David L. Katz, His wife, Publications, Articles, Publishers, Etc. Turthteller (talk) 00:26, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Katz, and his family, agents, counsel, and publications, are not suitable secondary sources. I strongly suggest you read Wikipedia's guidance on verifiability before proposing changes to the article. —C.Fred (talk) 00:28, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Turthteller, what is your relationship with the person who operated the WorthMedia account? Jytdog (talk) 00:37, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Turthteller (talk) 00:48, 4 February 2018 (UTC)I have no relationship with WorthMedia. Though i'm sure I could find out who they are, if I ask around.Turthteller (talk) 00:48, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't ask around and please do not write here who you think that person is. I asked about your relationship with person, and only that. Jytdog (talk) 17:28, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
