Anastasiya Prykhodko[edit]

Are you sure about this edit? The Korrespondent article clearly states that the song was also banned because it was also sang in Russian (see here), unless I translated the article wrong (which is possible :) ) and also welcome to English Wikipedia! — Mariah-Yulia (talk) 01:24, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm shocked. The song is (was) originally in Ukrainian totally (and it has been sung at the Ukrainuan semifinal in Ukrainian too - this could prove everybody who watched TV broadcasting of those show). Do you really read & understand Ukrainian ? Where have you seen in the Korrespondent.net's article mentions about lannguage problems with it ? See please my articles in the UkrWiki (uk:Мамо, uk:Приходько Анастасія Костянтинівна). I should say that in this way emerge myths, as I repeat again - the original lyrics of the song is in Ukrainian, and for Russian final two song parts were have been translated into Russian deliberately. --Turzh (talk) 09:28, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No my understanding of Ukrainian isn't great :) I didn't want to create myths of course, but (in my defense) I made an translation error and you corected it. Nothing to be shocked about, that's what wikipedia is all about :). According to Kyiv Post (click her): "she (Prykhodko) received much publicity as a victim of vial Ukrainian Eurovision committee, so it’s hard to deny that her victory had a lot to do with politics". Does that opinion make any sense in your opinion? Did Prykhodko win because of Anti-Ukrainian sentiment? I always try to think positively :), I'm just worried that nationalist from Russian and Ukraine will use this to try and pick a fight. If that happens that information should be put in her or in the Mamo (song) wiki article, just like in the We Don't Wanna Put In article the controversy about that song should be mentioned. Cause political fights over Eurovision songs are remarkable!
