A tag has been placed on St. Edwards C of E, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. FirefoxMan 22:31, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

St Edwards C of E

[edit]

I've moved the page to User talk:Twilight Aruseus/St. Edwards C of E. This allows you to develop the article, before placing it in the main space (we don't do 'work in progress' articles).

A few tips for you:

  • The article needs context. In paticular, an introduction saying where the school is, what age its pupils are etc is necessary
  • The article will need to be at a different title - 'St Edwards C of E' is a colloquial abbreviation of its full name. A better title might be 'St Edward's Church of England School', for example. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robdurbar (talkcontribs)
Yeah, it's pretty good, and I've given it a bit of a tidy up. A few more tips on your writing style:
  • Write in the third person (e.g. the school is) rather than the first (we...)
  • To make wikilinks such as this one, type [[two brackets around the text]]. This allows people to move between articles
  • On talk pages, sign your posts using four 'tildes' i.e. ~~~~. This tells users who's saying what and when they said it. As you'll note, I forgot to do it when I posted above!
  • Articles need to be put in categories. See the link just before this sentence to find out how to do that!

It's very good for a first article, well done! I hope you can keep contributing. --Robdurbar 19:10, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
