Image tagging for Image:Dropa2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dropa2.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

A tag has been placed on Universe wars, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Thanks[edit]

Many thanks for the message, I always welcome users that I've created a an account for. Although it is a "boiler plate" message, I think it has valuble information in it. How are you finding things anyway? Ryan Postlethwaite 00:47, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The reason why we use our own formatting is because it's easier(!?) than HTML for the average editor - it basically makes it more accesbible. You say you want to try and get to know the community better? Well a good thing to do is get involved in some discussions such as deletion discussions, policy discussions or the admins board (note: all users are welcome to comment, not just admins) - I found it hard at first, but you soon get into the swing of things. Hi,

I believe this image is a violation copyright law, unfortunately. Although I realize you weren't doing anything deliberately wrong, unless you took the picture (meaning that you are Dr. Wegener), or you have been delegated legal rights by him or his heirs or assignees, you are not legally able to give permission to distribute the photo. You may only give legal permission for images you own. I have deleted the image, assuming you were merely mistaken in uploading it. If I am wrong, and you do have legal rights to the images, please say so, and I'll restore it after further research. Best wishes, Xoloz (talk) 15:34, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
