Logos for Greatest Athlete[edit]

Hi - I noticed you removed three logos, possibly by accident. I've reverted your edits to these pages for now. I don't know if you had an alternative logo in mind? By all means ask if you're having problems with images - they can be a pain to deal with sometimes. Blue Square Thing (talk) 18:21, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Blue Square- Those logos are the creation of Rexona who were just the sponsors of Greatest Athlete Australia commonly known as Australia's Greatest Athlete. They are no longer sponsors of the show. I replaced them with the actual Trademarked logos for the show. The IP, Trademarks and production of the series belong to Greatest Athlete PTY LTD. All logo's and reference to the show is currently being updated to Greatest Athlete Australia. TwinklemeToes (talk) 23:06, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Which isn't unreasonable if it's the logo that represented the series when it was broadcast. The problem was that the replacement image clearly didn't show up! I don't know why, it might have been uploaded wrongly? Anyway, it didn't work which is primarily why I removed them.
Can I counsel against creating a series of edit wars on who owns the concept, company or development btw? I think, given past history, it'd be best to make sure that anything on that sort of stuff probably needs references. Thanks and happy editing. We cannot control the false representation, ranting and actions of someone who is already being investigated by the police for theft, fraud and criminal defamation. However there is no legal dispute of who owns Greatest Athlete® and the actual creator of the series. The headline sponsor Rexona are no longer sponsors of the series. The official logos of the show was featured on the athletes clothing. The logos of the series must be removed as it now in breech of the contract regarding the branding of the series.TwinklemeToes (talk) 20:54, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The logos which were in use were clearly made available under fair use terms I believe - which is fairly standard for this sort of logo. Now, in terms of who owns it - I'd be really thankful if someone could point to some form of authoritative source which would tell me that, because, trust me, I've looked several times and most of what you find is propaganda put in place by one side or the other. So, if you can point to sources - which your contrib above seems to indicate you can do - then please do so. It would save all sorts of headache and hassle. At the same time it'd be really useful to avoid BLP issues unless you can cite specific proven cases of theft, fraud etc... Thanks. Blue Square Thing (talk) 09:32, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Watermark who are patent and trademark attorneys based in Perth, will be able to confirm who the registered Trademarks belong to. Paul Fong is the Principle. They will also confirm that the IP and Trademark is directly registered to the TV series Greatest Athlete® Australia, previously sponsored by Rexona. TwinklemeToes (talk) 10:58, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Which potentially falls foul of WP:OR issues - what we could use are verifiable, third party sources. Blue Square Thing (talk) 11:11, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Blue Square for some reason I am unable to remove Rexona from page name of Series 2 page name. It still has Rexona ahead of Greatest Athlete. We need to change this at their contract as headline sponsor has come to an end and need Greatest Athlete to have it's own Identity. How do we go about changing it? Skier Dude- The new logo are the copyright of Greatest Athlete PTY LTD, the owners of the trademark and IP of Tv show Australia's Greatest Athlete. This is the Universal logo for the show. They are attributed to the correct articles within wikipedia. Thank you.TwinklemeToes (talk) 10:49, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You need to supply a linkable source for this file, and then put a request at WP:Requests for undeletion with the correct/complete information. Skier Dude (talk)
A LINKABLE SOURCE - give the weblink - like http://www.whateveraddress.xyz - where the image can be found. It would also be extremely helpful to give the same, a linkable web site, where the exact copyright status of the image can be verified. Skier Dude (talk) 00:59, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK, File:AGA logo Gold2.png clearly is not the one that is shown at http://www.greatestathlete.com/ and at http://www.facebook.com/greatestathlete. The ones shown there on those sites is at File:GA Logo V4.jpg which will be restored momentarily. Skier Dude (talk) 01:24, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
