The userboxes about being a Muslim, Jew or Roman Catholic seem to pass deletion debates easily. Why are these bigger religious movements more acceptable than for example Lutheranism? Lapinmies 17:38, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Historical accident. This got deleted based on an interpretation of a statement by Jimbo which would apply equally well to other religion-related userboxes. See Wikipedia:Deletion review/Userbox debates and [1]. --Saforrest 14:47, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not getting involved in userboxes, at all. However, you can post a request at WP:UBD. I've removed the request to edit as it is placed wrongly. Use WP:UBD. Stifle 16:47, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Silence - Maybe it is sneaky, but if you change one user box, you should change them all. Ian 04:37, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Interested in" vs. "is"

[edit]

The userbox has read "interested in" for a long time. I believe it's important to remain thus, because
(a) There may be many users, like me, who are not (or not yet) Lutheran, but are genuinely interested in it. To change this is to change the nature of the box; and
(b) Because there's a danger that if it is so explicit, it may very well get deleted, as have been many religious userboxes.
If someone's adamant about it, let's discuss it here first.
