Happy editing

I wish you all the best on the anniversary day of your first-edit. --Bhadani 16:33, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

I'd totally forgotten! Thanks so much for your kind message UkPaolo/talk 16:40, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

SYED AHMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what have u done with the page!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it took quite a long time to make and can u restore it please!!!!!!! Bobo6balde66 17:24, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

I'm afraid not. The article on Syed Ahmed was deleted in accordance with our deletion policy following a discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Syed Ahmed. If you disagree with this decision you should post at Wikipedia:Deletion review. I would ask you to consider the notability of this individual in a worldwide encyclopedia, however. Personally, I feel that useful information should be included in the The Apprentice (UK series 2) (I merged useful content from the old article there). You'll note that a similar approach was taken for candidates in other reality TV shows such as big brother. Please don't take this personally: good contributions to the Syed Ahmed article are still available in The Apprentice (UK series 2). UkPaolo/talk 18:12, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

QUOTES

Ok, so why is Charlie G Hawkins page not allowed quotes but Jade Goody page is? *rolls eyes* HelterSkelter88 13:08, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

  • *sighs*... it's not a case of not being "allowed quotes", it's a case of what is sensible. Please remember that this is an encyclopedia, a few appropriate and well known quotes may well be appropriate, particularly in the case of Jade Goody's page where several of those statements are often quoted about her. I didn't think that the few quotes included on Charlie G. Hawkins page added anything at all to the article — they are not particularly well known, gave no encyclopedic value, and are also unsourced (and thus unverifiable). I personally don't think that the article merits such quotes to be included. Wikiquote may be more appropriate if you want to create such a list of quotes (this could then be linked to the article on here). UkPaolo/talk 13:15, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Fixing news article to British English

I must say I find the fact that you deleted my argument in Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors very offensive. Someone wanted something fixed, I stated that he was wrong and that there is no reason for such a fix to occur, and then you come in and "fix" it by removing the entire argument, including my reasoning, and say "I agree", before doing what he asked. Do you really know what the situation outside of the UK in Europe is when it comes to the usage of English? Do you realize that due to the media, which most people learn English from, usually use American English? Surely, I don't care about the fact you edited one news entry to British English, even though I'm sure it's stated somewhere that edit (wars) should never be about which spelling to use, but I do think that assuming that everybody in Europe outside of the UK speaks British English is narrow-minded. I think that saying "I agree" with no further reasoning while you yourself are from the UK is no way to end such an argument, and I'd have expected differently from an admin. —Michiel Sikma, 15:14, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Whoa... I can only apologise that your argument was seemingly deleted and disregarded, I an assure you this was not intentional and I would, too, feel aggrieved in your position. I never read your message, nor intended to delete it, the fact that this happenned was accidental. In fact, it would seem I accidentally deleted a number of users replies: something I shall rectify in a minute. To be honest, if I had have read your message, I wouldn't have made the change — I only did so since one user had requested it, I agreed with it, and nobody had voiced any opposition. I can't really explain further what happenned, perhaps I mistakenly edited an old revision of the page. You have my apologies. UkPaolo/talk 15:22, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
PS — just to let you know I have now restored the deleted comments on Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors. I fully support your suggestion of linking to 2006 Champions League Final and have changed the template accordingly. Sorry again for my mistake! UkPaolo/talk 15:32, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
I'm glad that my findings were mainly due to an accident. Sorry for the accusations! Thanks for the quick and good-natured reply. I appreciate it that you're willing to apologize. In case you're wondering, I don't think that the changes you have made should be reverted, since I think edits that just change which international spelling is used are (usually) moot. —Michiel Sikma, 15:43, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your understanding. I apologised, actually... (just kidding!) Yes, I would agree with you that British/US spelling changes are normally not worth worrying about! UkPaolo/talk 15:55, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for taking care of the Forest matter; I appreciate the response and hope there won't be any more conflicts from now on. ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 15:25, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Not a problem, I do too. UkPaolo/talk 15:34, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

There really never is a time

There is really never a time where I can get into a conversation without hearing from you within a day. Is there some reason you keep getting into my conversations? I know conversation's are supposed to be more than two people if wanted or needed or if a user wants to say something, however I think were going over that which has made me decide to take a Wikibreak until next Wednesday and do something else. For instance you say: "It is good practice to leave useful edit summaries". Another admin tells me you should never remove vandalisim warnings plus, Apostrophe has got to control his use of edit summaries as you can see when he was first blocked. Bad use of edit summaries....Furthermore, if I really start thinking about it I might be leaving Wikipedia for good! ForestH2

You know it seems as though I should quit...ForestH2

And....please see my user page for a better follow up. ForestH2

Forest, I'm confused and somewhat saddened by this message. Firstly, I'm not too sure I understand your comments regarding User:Apostrophe. I am correct when I say that it is good practice to leave useful edit summaries, and you are correct in quoting another admin as saying that vandalism warnings should not be removed from talk pages. I'm not quite sure why you brought these points up. From what I can see from the block log Apostrophe never was "first blocked". I think you'll find that whilst his use of edit summaries is not perfect, he does use them some of the time and to be perfectly honest, even if he never used them I don't think that would ever be considered grounds for blocking in its own right and you certainly have no right to make such threats to him. As I pointed out above, if you really want to discuss things which could be considered a blockable offence, your seeming willingness to disrupt Wikipedia to proove a point to Apostrophe by continually reverting his change simply due to his lack of an edit summary is something which is far more likely to merit a block (see WP:POINT).
I'm not sure there's much to be gained from discussing this issue further. I'm sorry if you were annoyed by what you seem to consider my interfering in this matter but I would point out, that since both Apostrophe and Chris had posted at Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts and (allbeit wrongly) Wikipedia:Requests for mediation and as an admin I felt it absolutely appropriate to intervene. You are mistaken in saying that you cannot "get into a conversation" without hearing from me "within a day". I have only ever intended to give my guidance in places where I have felt you are mistaken.
Please don't get so disheartened by all of this and accept the criticism. You have made many valuable contributions to Wikipedia, and I hope that after your break you will come back and continue to do so. UkPaolo/talk 13:47, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

Your saying it's good practice to leave edit summaries. You are correct. It is not good practice to leave bad edit summaries. Please see Apostrophe's talk page where he had been blocked before for bad usage of edit summaries. This was a while ago. You'd have to go way back in the block log as I am sure you an other admin's block users/IP adresses 1,000 times a day or so. If he removes vandalisim warnings or decides to put some rather bad stuff in edit summaries. He gets warnings. Removing them....well. I was waiting for him to get his act together and actully put in a good edit summary which he rarely does. Chris and Apostrophe, I know posted to the Wikiquette alerts seemingly they did not know about there bad use of edit summaries. It is O.K if you get into my conversations.....However, in the last two major ones, with Touth and Apostrophe I have heard from you in so quite a while. Well I'm going to take a little time off this weekend I think making some edits and return on Monday instead. And why is there a rule called "You can only revert 3 edits once in a day" That seems to be a rule that....I don't know. It's O.K if you intended to give your guidance in the places where you felt I was mistaken. I'm going to come back after Monday while making several edits over the weekend. And I guess it's O.K to interfere with my conversations...and post new conversations so my knowledge of Wikipedia can get better on the talk page. I may just take a day off...I don't know what at the current time. ForestH2

And it just got tiring have to play a game with Apostrophe's name. Where does a user report a supcious user to be banned? I know it's not where you can request a block. I would assume you know. Do you? Oh and about my name, RadioKirk says he was going to contact the software people and talk to them why my name was coming out like this: ~~~~ForestH2 00:03 19 May 2006 (UTC)ForestH2

Best Regards, ForestH2

You can keep doing as you are...to expand my knowledge of Wikipedia. However.... ForestH2

IT People

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from IT People, which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. I have nominated the article for deletion instead; the debate may be found at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/IT People, which overrides the need for a {{prod}} tag. I have explained my reasons for doing this in my nomination. Thanks! Mangojuicetalk 12:53, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

I appreciate you having taken the time to let me know, I've added my comments to the AfD. Thanks! UkPaolo/talk 13:20, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

The Whole Treehouse (Drake and Josh episode) thing

If you would like to make a comment or two in my conversations that is fine. But not if it you don't have a relevant comment-well that's where I was concerned. As far as I know we still need to clear up this thing about the Treehouse (Drake and Josh) episode, wether we are nominating it for deletion, keeping it etc. ForestH2

I have never intentionally made an irrelevant comment to you, as far as I'm concerned (unless you'd like to higlight any examples...?). Regarding Treehouse, I have listed it for AfD at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Treehouse (Drake and Josh episode), and we shall see how the discussion goes. UkPaolo/talk 16:14, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Game

Feeling Chatty? Yeah. Many people sign there name differently but going up to edit history. Seeing there's no Feeling Chatty clicking on the verisons to actully see wrote that message? That's a game. And it's a complete waste of my time. ForestH2

Erm, actually he has an apostrophe symbol ' which links to his user page, "feeling chatty" is a link to his talk page. I don't consider that a game, it might not be ideal but I'm not inclined to pursue the matter. On a more positive note, I see you've fixed your signature which is good. UkPaolo/talk 16:14, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

And please explain to 194.80.32.11 that you can have a wikibreak sign up there and still be editing. He keeps vandalizing my page by taking it off. ForestH2

Have left a message, and I see he's been blocked by another admin. UkPaolo/talk 16:14, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

User Page

Is it O.K to have: "User's that I like, Users I don't like, Users I admire" etc....on your user page? I would think it would hurt ones of feeling if they showed up on the page and saw there name on the don't like list? ForestH2 (discuss | contribs)

Erm, plenty of people have "users I like/admire" etc, and I don't see any problems with that. I would agree with you however, that a "list of users I don't like" would not be a good thing to include. On a user's own user page I'm not sure about the extent to which it would break our rules, however. UkPaolo/talk 16:14, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

I am ForestH2-not logged in though. What about on an article? ForestH2 (discuss | contribs)

why you are destroying my auto?

angelrada 14:42, 23 May 2006 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Angelrada (talkcontribs)

I am not destroying anything. I presume what you meant was why did I vote to delete Angel Rada (at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Angel Rada). In which case, I thought my vote was fairly self-explanatory: fails to establish notability. This is a global encyclopedia, and as such people written about in articles should be sufficiently notable to merit inclusion. In this case, I'm sorry to say that I feel you are not-sufficiently notable (per our guidelines at WP:MUSIC). I also take a fairly dim view of the self-promotion which you have been doing in adding links to yourself all over the place. UkPaolo/talk 15:58, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Hey UK PAOLO YOU ARE A DONKEY ANGEL RADA IS VERY FAMOUS IN SOUTHAMERICA ; HE WAS ONE OF THE PIONEER OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC IN VENEZUELA; YOU NEED TO INFORM NOT TO JUDGE THAT YOU DON^T KNOW ; YOU ARE RACIST AND NEO NAZI; NO LATIN IN WIKIPEDIA YOU SAID ONLY BLONDE PEOPLE NEVER NIGGER OR LATIN LESS AFRICANS YOU ARE A DIRTY NAZI HIDE IN UNIVERSYTY DIPLOMAS

why you judge hard to all article?

chech again Angel Rada i report your acion to directive of wikipedia..you can destroy history , my all life is in the national library and Venezuelan University angelrada 16:10, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

There is no "directive [sic] of Wikipedia" decisions such as this are generally made by community consensus. Judging from the discussion so far, plenty of other editors agree that this article should be deleted. Please make further comments regarding your notability at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Angel Rada or Talk:Angel Rada. UkPaolo/talk 16:16, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Apostrophe

Further- Apostrophe was blocked so far back I'm not sure that you went all the way back in the block log. Forest

Treehouse

UkPaolo, I have removed the Considering for Deletion sign, as I have expanded the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ForestH2 (talkcontribs)

And I have restored it, per our policy. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. If you oppose the deletion of an article, you may comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. UkPaolo/talk 09:07, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

User Page design

Finally finished renovating your user page! You can beat me over the head for the long wait, so I aplogize again. I was using the complicated code, until I discovered Sango's wonderful, new, easier (and less of a headache) way — so I'd like to thank Sango as well for just being so talented in that area. Anyway, hope you like it, and that it's "not too girly." To fill in the blank space, you could perhaps add one or two more userboxes. Well, if you have any comments and complaiments, share them. I'll now work on tweaking your talk page to include the PotD. :)Mirlen 01:30, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Mirlen, thanks so much for your hard work in redesigning my user page. I think it's great ! I'll get to work actually adding more content to the page at some point! Thanks again UkPaolo/talk 09:05, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Treehouse

The page-where do I post? There's no place that I post. I just looked at it. And-what's wrong with Treehouse now? Previously, you had said it had no content, the only problem now with it is citing sources......And it seems as though before your page was renovated your page had been vandalized 22 times and now it's at 18. ForestH2

Why not stub it? Forest

Merge into one article? No. You need all the episodes to have there own page. I will say, that for the episodes having one sentence we can allow them to be and delete them until it becomes important to have them when they air. I guess about the season thing-Nights Not End, would type in the episode, as he is a fan of Drake and Josh. (almost sure). Not sure what you mean-If we were to create an article for the whole season would we have a brief summary or plot in that article? If then-I have to check with other users who edit the Drake and Josh articles, if they like the idea that's fine. I'm thinking before you want to merge them in from all episodes of each Season. However, look at Tourney Blues. It has a lot of info. So, I'm going to ask Nights Not End about what the thinks about the List of Drake and Josh episodes. For now it stays as it is. P.S.- I'm having trouble linking some sources onto the Treehouse page from T.V.com. ForestH2

Possible sockpuppet

User:Sexysenoir has left personal attacks on both mine and Forest's user pages, clearly angry over Volleyballgirl's banning and assigning the blame on us. ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 01:40, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Count?

Your count for vandalisim is less after that user renovated your page. ForestH2

Hi Paolo, and thank you for your supportive comments in my request for adminship! With a final tally of (109/5/1), I have been entrusted with adminship. It's been several weeks since the conclusion of the process, so hopefully you've had a chance to see me in action. Please let me know what you think! Adverts: Like The Beatles?... Like LEGO?... In a WikiProject that classifies?... Are you an accountable admin?... Got DYK?...

Excuse Me?

Excuse me? I put all that work into moving episodes into the correct order, adding references and I have to do all that work all over again just because of you? I want to know your actions, and why you reverted all that stuff. Not just the dates ALL that stuff. Is there a reason? Or is there not? All my hard work-is gone. And I thought admins were not supposed to remove good work? ForestH2

And-I suggest you stay out of working on the List of Drake and Josh episodes if you keep removing useful infromation! ForestH2

Regarding, your edit to Jason Piper please let new people on that page, know that it is unknown if he will lend his voice or not, because newcomers would see that info instead of leaving it blank. Regards, ForestH2

Warning!

Please do not remove any good infromation from any pages such as you did to the List of Drake and Josh episodes Good info is what is needed for a Wikipedia article. If you keep deleting good info from Wikipedia articles you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia without farther notice. ForestH2

Yes, your removed references. I expect you take time in to thinking about that. I'm sure you already removed the graphics I statred working on. ForestH2

But is there some reason your remove references, new work I've done on Season 4? No there is none. And I expect that you take those edits into count. Now, Jason Piper is confirmed to lend his voice-more of that later. You have already done enough there. Now I have gotten the graphics to be how they should be, you should leave them alone. I spent tireless work on trying to make references for sentences etc. and you erase them. You sort of/sort of did not make them out of good faith, and I have every right to revert your edits. ForestH2

And-you still haven't explained why you removed references? Without reverting edits why don't you add the dates, so all my work doesn't go to waste. There are graphics on that page and I have every right to revert your edits if you are reverting something you shouldn't. ForestH2

Syed Ahmed WTF??

y do u kep doing this

please , please can u give a a vaild reason why the Syed Ahmed page should be deleted and dont give me any of this "it has no meaning" crap i want a real reason and i also want a reason why the michelle dewberry page should be kept and again dont give me "well give me a valid reason to keep the syed ahmed page" ryt got that GOOD Bobo6balde66 20:46, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

hello you voted to delete easypizza but why? we are a uk company fully registered and legal, and the article is not spam and only had backlinks to our homepage i can show you several other company pages that have dozens of links and are just pure spam if you vote for easypizza to be deleted you must also vote for all the hundreds of other company pages i will apply to be deleted as well please be even handed

IMDB is a bad website that doesn't cite sources. Do not follow there cast. Follow cast such as on Harry Potter Fan Zone, Muggle Net and Leaky Cauldron. I haven't looked at the article but I will now --ForestH2

Is there some reason we have references on Jason Piper when we DON'T on Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, George Harris, Apple Brook, Alec Hopkins, Nick Shim, Tony Maudsley, Emma Watson etc? ForestH2

And- is there some reason that your not counting the vandalisim on your page anymore? ForestH2

I hope's it's O.K that I updated your edits from 6300 to 6900. I guess saying that we could remove the references after Bane's been in the film? Are you studying for exams? ForestH2

CAN I?

can i edit the Syed bit on the The Apprentice (UK series 2) and like add a picture and make his bio big please Bobo6balde66 22:31, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Hiya. ForestH2 left the following on his talk page with a {{helpme}} tag. I've copied it here and removed the tag. Waitak 14:52, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

This is to UkPaolo only. If you can't figure out what a 3RR is I am not excatly sure why you are an admin. I am leaving Wikipedia as I have had it with everyone and after 12 hours is finished I am going to report you to a place (not sure where yet). For you not to know what a 3RR is, well I'm not sure why you are an admin. I deserve to be unblocked and after the 12 hours or when I am unblocked I am going to report UkPaolo to the admins and then leave Wikipedia. ForestH2
I don't seem to think you know what even simple vandalisim is. I am very suprised why you were made an admin and I am going to make a point of posting on the Adminnistrator's Noticeboard I think....though I might request arbatration. As for now I will only sign in sometimes to check this issue. Otherwise I'm leaving Wikipedia. ForestH2

A short Esperanzial update

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Removing Messages

I believe- though I am not sure that it is considered bad practice to remove messages from a talk page? And if you could get a citation for me that would be good to. Uh...this user Folajimi had 120 discussions on his talk page. I revisited his page a couple days ago and they were gone. I just wanted to know if it is a policy not to remove messages. 72.134.40.173

Eh....Paolo the Shyed Ahmed article was recreated. 15:34, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

All right. Uh...yeah. On the 16th I left Wikipedia for a week in a half (a little annoyed) If I plan to leave Wikipedia for another long period of time, I will request my talk page protected. As you can see I am currently away but editing when I get a chance. And uh....could you watch Touth? He broke the 3RR twice in the last three days and I've yet to recieve a block for him after posting at WP:AIV Back from your wikibreak yet? And no IP has any really important messages to give to me, but still it's good my talk page was unprotected. Please keep my userpage protected. Oh and can an image be on a userpage? On Foxearth, you said it was only used to demonstrate the article in question. Let me know and happy editing. ForestH2 | + | √+ | | √- | - 16:25, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Hello

I noticed you don't edit much. When is your wikibreak over where you'll back to editing more? Treebark 16:32, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

hey there... thanks for asking. I'm not sure to be honest, I've not got much free time at the moment, and aren't contributing anywhere near as much as I have in the past. I still browse through my Watchlist and make occasional edits when I can, though. UkPaolo/talk 16:45, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
I was going to ask the same question Treebark asked. ForestH2 | + | √+ | | √- | - 16:33, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
O.K. Your a great contributor and a great admin so don't stop editing all together! Treebark 16:47, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Uh....Jason Piper. First, why don't you join the Harry Potter wikiproject since you edit some of the pages? It's already been annouced that Jason Piper is playing Bane so we don't really need a citation there. Treebark 17:03, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Yes, it has been annouced Piper's playing Bane. BUT, Wikipedia is not a place to fool around and list sources that are wrong. For instance, an elephant named Ken in Africa is 7 feet long with a citation of Bane, playing Jason Piper in the Harry Potter movies is not O.K. We need correct citations, and until we can source statements correctly, we shouldn't have a statement at all. The source saying Potter Exclusive: New Bellatrix mentions nothing at all about him filming his roll in London. I'm going to cite it now correctly or we shouldn't have a source there at all. Treebark 18:42, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Yeah it doesn't say anything about Piper. Bane is a centuar and it says the centuars role has been filmed meaning Piper has already filmed his role in London. The other source says Piper has been cast, it's O.K for the article but only in a different spot like the way you put it, in your recent edit to Jason Piper. See ya. Treebark 19:10, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
O.K. Can you tell Forest to leave them alone? He seemed bother by it earlier. I do think however that the one saying Bane has been casted should be removed in several months, because after 2007 everybody will know Jason Piper played Bane. Otherwise, until the trailer comes out for the Order of the Phoenix, we shouldn't touch the references. Mind telling Forest? Treebark 19:16, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Are the templates on his page inappropriate? ForestH2 t/c 21:06, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you very much for making my time in Wikipedia super. I have decided to leave and I don't think I will be back. Thank you again for helping me and making my time in Wikipedia super. Best Regards, ForestH2 t/c 23:26, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Program Feature: To-Do List
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.

  3. Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
  4. Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
  5. Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
  6. There is a page for discussing the front page redesign.

Program Feature: Barnstar Brigade
Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!
What's New?
September elections are upon us! Anyone wishing to be a part of the Advisory Council may list themselves as a candidate from 18 September until 24 September, with the voting taking place from 25 September to 30 September. Those who wish to help with the election staff should also list themselves!

Jeremy Mills

Thank you for restoring the original page name, etc.. I was just too tired to put in a request after having labored to figure out what the blazes had happened. (I watch for vandalism on the List of gay porn stars page, which is what started my investigation.) Thanks again.Chidom talk  17:45, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Nishi Honganji

Why did you remove my image? I have explicit permission from the copyright holder to have it on here. I had the source and author listed. Again, why did you remove the picture? {Mind meal 15:57, 22 October 2006 (UTC)}

Hi there, regarding the image File:Nishi.JPG which I deleted from the article Nishi Honganji. I deleted the image because under the image licensing you indicated that the image was copyrighted with all rights reserved and that only Wikipedia has permission to use this file (or that permission was granted only to use the image for non commercial use). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, since explicit permission to use it was given, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with this restriction on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it.

I appreciate you sought the permission of the copyright holder to use the image on here, but in order for us to use the image you must request that they make the media available under a free license. If you have any further questions please feel free to leave a message on my talk page or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. UkPaolo/talk 16:26, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

The Byron Insert

Since you are the one who started the argument that this page should be deleted, I figured I would counter-argue you on that. Wikipedia is a source people use to find out something about anything. A lot of the time, wikipedia is the best source because you can find things you would not find anywhere else. With that being said, The Byron Insert is a newer sexual technique as stated on the page created for it. If you were to watch newer pornographies, you would have a reliable source as to where this information came from. You would most likely not be able to search "The Byron Insert" in a search engine and find information on it as it is a technique used in pornographies. However, like I said before, if you watched certain newer pornographies then you would find this technique being used and named. If you ask for a name of a pornography in which it is used, I will gladly give you a title.

You deleted Scott Boyd as a copyvio. I had trimmed it to a stub so that it would no longer be a copyvio, although I don't know if anybody made any edits after mine. Could you please take another look at the article and restore it if that seems appropriate? --TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 23:18, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I'm sorry but the version of the article (even the one you had created) seemed to be a direct copyright violation of http://repboyd.com/?sectionid=100&sectiontree=100. If you wish to re-create the article, using your own words, then feel free to go ahead. UkPaolo/talk 07:37, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

I see you speedy deleted this article as being a copyvio to another page. From what I remember (since I'm not an admin and as a result I can't take a look at the article as it stood before deletion) the Azlea article had seen a large number of edits... Are you sure the Wiki page is a copy of the gallery-porn-star page and not the other way around?? Tabercil 00:47, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

:Hmm... a fair point. I'll have a look at some of the previous revisions when I get a chance later, you may have a point... UkPaolo/talk 07:41, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the License Heads Up

You edited my user page to get rid of an image that was "permission given for wikipedia" but not "properly licensed". Thanks for the heads up. I didn't realize there was a difference and I do now thanks to you (and now the image is properly licensed). I just wanted to say thanks for putting in the effort :-)

- JenniferForUnity 20:48, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

not a problem - I'm glad you've now chosen to relicense the image! cheers, UkPaolo/talk 07:39, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

November Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

This concerns the Wikipidia article on the Monty Hall Problem,

I believe that Marylin, in the original statetement of the problem, specifically included the phrase "Monty Hall who knew where the car was... opens another door and shows a goat...".

In reading the article in Wikipidia one gets the impression that her original statement was ambiguous. I think you should possibly recover her original words and include them in the Historical part of the Article, and let the reader decide on that basis if the original statement was ambiguous.

I am the originator of the site that is number 1 on Google on the Monty Hall paradox. I believe that I placed there the original words of Marylin. If I was wrong I would like to know and make the appropriate corrections.

Please aknowledge receipt of this
