Madonna[edit]

Hi Vikrant I hope I am doing this correctly, if not I apologize. I am still new and trying to figure things out. Anyway, as far as Madonna, I did not add Camilla Bowles Parker in the article in the first place. I just fixed it so it would link to the Duchess' page. Actually I questioned the validity of that too. I am a huge Madonna fan and have never heard that before. However, being new I am not comfortable deleting others' work. Thanks MM DENE (talk) 17:59, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing .... please let me know what you end up doing? Thanks MM DENE (talk) 18:03, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:X2XMU-Janssen-and-Berry.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:X2XMU-Janssen-and-Berry.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Halle Berry Biography[edit]

Merry Christmas[edit]

Die Another Day[edit]

Please can you point out where in the Manual of Style it says that bold should be used? There may be a case for having the characters' names in bold since the term is being defined, but there is no reason to have the actors' names in bold. Please also assume good faith when editing and be civil rather than making accusations of vandalism. Thanks, Rich257 (talk) 20:24, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thats great progress -not bad four GA's up for nomination huh? I'm afraid theres still alot to add to Thunderball on the recpetion section, and probably the others too. Hope your having a good christmas -hey whats happening with your Long way round user name?? You know you have to request changing your user name rather than moving it youself don't you? this way is automoatically changes your past edits as your new user name ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 13:58, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.S the cast section should be in bold like casino royale. You are right! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 13:59, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vikrant. We can't use that poor quality image in world is not enough of bond and renard its too small and fuzzy and degrades the article. Can we please replace it with this higher quality one ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 18:20, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Images in Lists[edit]

Hi, images are not suitable for Wikipedia if they are relevant to just one word or sentence in an article. So do not send images like the helicopter in List of James Bond vehicles as they will be removed. Vikrant 14:49, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, ok, the KV-107 pic gets deleted - which is a screen shot from the movie - but the SAAB 900 that is parked in a grass field is aplicable to the article? Could you enlighten me on the difference? Thanks, --Trashbag (talk) 19:50, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article List of James Bond video game locations, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Madonna[edit]

I had to rv the Madonna page, due to your constant revision. Please do not add copyrighted images, (Reinvention image is not your work). Do not play with the images in sections. You've also broken the three edit and revision rule. You have about 20 rewrites. If this continues, you will be blocked from the page. Thank you. Maddyfan (talk) 12:59, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What vandalism?[edit]

You have blanked sources, removed uncopyrighted images when they are supposed to replace copyrighted ones and also falsely accused 3RR. Vikrant 13:03, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated List of James Bond video game locations, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of James Bond video game locations and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 17:44, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been warned[edit]

If you continue to add unfree images, I'm getting a moderator involved. PLEASE DO NOT add unfree photos. I'm tired of deleting them. You are thanked for adding sources, etc., to the page, but the amount of copyrighted photos you continue to post, even from Madonnalicious.com, is just getting ridiculous. STOP! Thanks. RfA[edit]

I'd expand on your answers if I were you. Many oppose over brief answers to the initial questions. Epbr123 (talk) 20:55, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree Vikrant. It's not that you are a bad editor, or undeserving of adminship, but you're answers leave much to be desired. Do what you can to make your opening statement as good as you can, because too many people vote on their first impression and not on the editor's quality. You've been here a while, you've made very good contributions, but I can see your RfA not passing without better responses. Thanks. I hope you consider this "positive criticism", which is my intention, and not negative. Thanks for your contributions, Keeper | 76 21:08, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your request for adminship was unsuccessful[edit]

I am sorry to inform you that I have closed your RfA early as realistically it was no longer capable of succeeding. Do not be too disheartened - many of our finest admins were unsuccessful on their first attempt. I hope you will take onboard the concerns raised by those opposing and will consider running again in the future when you have more experience. Best wishes, WjBscribe 06:10, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In this photo, the premiere was a week or so later, and she isn't really wearing the armband. Would you want to replace this with the current one in her Personal Life section, that you uploaded?

No, this image is copyrighted and must not replace an uncopyrighted one like the present image. Vikrant 15:40, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Living daylights[edit]

Pretty disappointed you didn't address this to the James Bond project first before going to afd. I would suggest moving the page to Necros and rmeoving the insignifcant character. The information on Necros (James Bond) is valid enough as any other Bond character and that should not be deleted. I say move to Necros ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 17:08, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you find reasons to keep Necros, it will be a good idea./ But saying this before or after on the project page - does it make a difference? Vikrant 14:05, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it is important to discuss any issues related to Bond with the group first. You see by afd listing we generate the unwanted attention of editors all across the project who aren't Bond fans and would deem the articles useless, hence an unfair turn out which can be damaging. It is up to us as a group to sort things out first. Please remember this in future. Personally I wouldn't have any objections to movingthem into one list for each film List of characters in Living Daylights etc and to balance in universe info with encyclopedic info on casting etc with references which shouldn't be too difficult to do. PLease address this issue to the project to get a consensu on what to do next. Regards. Your new user name sounds like something my old Chemistry teacher would use! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:10, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Madonna discography[edit]

I understand that you feel the Madonna main article shouldn't have a discography section. However, I feel pretty strongly that it's a minor addition which makes a big difference in usability, and so it should be included. I don't want to start an edit war, but if you feel just as strongly, maybe we should seek a neutral third opinion. My justification is not that "all musicians should have a discography section" (as you seem to imply by pointing to "ignore all rules") but rather it makes the article less confusing to readers and provides easy navigation to frequently-visited information. Adding it is not much of a hindrance (easy for a visitor to skip over), but omitting it is pretty annoying when you expect it to "just be there" and it's not. For an example of what I'm talking about, take a look at Elvis Presley. If all you want is a list of his albums and songs, it's so much easier to have the discography listed in the table of contents and not have to wade through the rest of the page looking for the link. You also mentioned "overlinking" and I'm not sure what you mean by that. I thought overlinking was something like linking every word in a sentence. If you mean you don't like having two links to the discography on the same page, I think it'd be more appropriate to remove the link from the "Related Topics" section. If there is some other reason ("empty section?") you'd rather not have a discography section, please let me know. Would it help if I added a little summary content, like Britney Spears's discography section? Dejaphoenix (talk) 23:53, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from List of James Bond characters in Agent Under Fire, which you proposed for deletion, because I think that the deletion of this article may be controversial. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! -- Atamachat 17:36, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Hydroderm[edit]

A tag has been placed on Hydroderm requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. statue fo madonna[edit]

I dont think your argument fully justifies inclusion of the picture. If it were true, then we could put into the article every single picture we could find that wasn't copyright, and I know there are lots of them. That would make the article a joke. Surely there is some other threshold argument for when to stop putting additional pictures into the article. I think that threshold is that the pictures should be illustrative of who madonna is, and as far as possible, they should be linked to something discussed in the article. As for censorship, while i dont like the picture, I made it clear that that was not the reason why i deleted it. I think the picture might relate to the article if there was something in the article about how Madonna has been honoured (as is the primary purpose of the Ghandi statue picture). But in that case, i would have thought the Madame Taussaud's wax statue woudl be a better example. JKW111 (talk) 21:32, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted your merge of McCartney's relationships, as it totally confused the section, and Linda Mccartney would not want to be merged with Jane Asher or Heather Mills. This is not a paper encyclopedia, and the sections should be clearly defined. Not leaving a note on the talk page is considered to be not very polite. I thank you. --andreasegde (talk) 17:28, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You taken a Wikipedia commons photo out now, which related to the section and the subject of the article. If you do not stop it will be perceived as vandalism. STOP.--andreasegde (talk) 09:22, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Which photo? Vikrant 17:12, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You are merging sections that do not belong together, and making it look like a video recorder manual, or a bus timetable.--andreasegde (talk) 10:11, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Madonna "statue"[edit]

This "statue" (which is actually a waxwork) is not appropriate for this page and has no significant interest to the section it is in, nor to Madonna herself. If it was a statue that Madonna had personally been involved or tributed to her or had any cultural meaning and/or bearing to herself, such as a monument, then it would be relevant. A random waxwork is not relevant. Please also stop putting random pictures in sections such as INFLUENCES with pictures from the Confessions Tour (i.e. not relevant to the section)JWAD (talk) 19:28, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
