English Partnerships[edit]

Don't forget English Partnerships as the political/economic engine responsible for much of regeneration.--TGC55 02:04, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UK Urban Regeneration[edit]

I'd like to help with this task.

The history of central government initiatitives is an important thread running through UK urban regeneration from the Urban Programme (small grants with not strategic context) through Urban Development Grant, Urban Regeneration Grant, City Grant (larger physical project related gap funding) to Urban Development Corporations (area based physical regeneration) to City Challenge, Single Regeneration Budget (Holistic ie social, economic, physical predominantly area based)to the more fragmented programmes run by Urban Regeneraiton Agencies and English Partnerships and the various neighbourhood renewal (less physical regeneration) such as New Deal for Communities and themed Action Zones and the various almost separate streams of housing related regeneration from Housing Action Areas through to Housing Market Renewal.

It might make sense to set some boundaries such as starting in 1970 and separating by country (Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England all have their separate programmes).

I also have some of the research done on other European countries, many of which have adressed the same issues (although without quite the same industrial revolution Legacy). Chris Brown —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.71.25.78 (talk) 11:53, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
