Removed wikilinks to Shine (Ima Castro song) in article Morissette (singer)

[edit]

Hello Unicotic,

I noticed that you removed the wikilinks to the article Shine (Ima Castro song), which I had recently added to the article Morissette (singer), without stating any rationale (or anything at all) in the edit summary. I'd appreciate it if you let me know the reasons why you considered it appropriate to remove those wikilinks.

Best regards,

-- Svenman (talk) 22:51, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately it seems you haven't had the opportunity to reply yet. I've now restored the wikilinks, as I assume you simply did not recognize that they indeed link to the correct song, misled by the addition in parentheses. However, Ms. Castro was the original recording artist of that song of which Morissette was invited to record a cover version for its 25th anniversary version. "Shine", of course, is a highly ambiguous lemma, and there even are many different songs sharing that title, so the differentiation is needed, and as far as I am informed, the convention on Wikipedia is to include the original recording artist in the lemma in such cases. Cover versions of songs, on the other hand, do not get their own articles or lemmas.
Looking at your contributions list, it seems that Morissette is your almost exclusive focus. If you have any additional information to contribute about Morissette's 25th anniversary cover version of "Shine", you are very welcome to add it to the article.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2019 in Philippine music, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Alternative. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

File permission problem with File:Morissette performs 'Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw'.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Morissette performs 'Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw'.jpg, which you've attributed to https://www.flickr.com/photos/195722828@N02/52153171138. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Although the Flickr uploader has assigned a CC-BY-SA license, it's clear that the Flickr user is not the photographer and does not own the rights. Adeletron 3030 (talkedits) 20:58, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Which are the most important awards won by Morissette? -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:48, 30 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also, did she write "Imagine More", or just perform it? -- Ssilvers (talk) 03:01, 19 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, she just perform it. Unicotic (talk) 07:10, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Can you tell me which are the most important awards that she has won? -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:16, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I guess the majority of the awards she has gotten are noteworthy, but I think the Wish Awards are the most notable since she has the most of them. Unicotic (talk) 14:17, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
