Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that Saro Tribastone, a page that you created, has been tagged for deletion. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It appears to be a test page. (See section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do, and take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
  • It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
  • It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. (See section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Fiddle Faddle 07:18, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you contest a deletion, you need to address the reasons for which the article was nominated - in this case there is no evidence of notability. It is nothing to do with whether the person exists or has released any recordings. Anyone can release a recording but that doesn't make them notable. Please read our editing guidelines to learn more. Hi, Why the page Saro Tribastone has been deleted? The page is about a genuine artist from Sicily, Italy, who is a composer of Mediterranean music and has released 3 albums with valid labels. Moreover, I have several references about the artist on the internet, including his official website, news links, twitter, and even if you just google the name "Saro Tribastone", you'll know it's worth publishing. Check [1] , [2] and [3] User:Urva222

Have you actually read the advice I just gave you above? Deb (talk) 08:46, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I have read. Which is why I cited the relevant links.

You didn't cite any links in the article - that's the whole point. That's why it was deleted. But please note, that Twitter and the artist's own website are not independent third-party references and do not count towards notability. Deb (talk) 09:07, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, ok, right. But before I could complete writing the whole article and mention citations and links, the article was deleted. Is there any facility by which I can "dry run"/test/preview an article before it goes to speedy deletion?

Yes, you can use a sandbox and you can also get it reviewed at Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Deb (talk) 09:15, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Opting in to VisualEditor[edit]

As you may know, VisualEditor ("Edit beta") is currently available on the English Wikipedia only for registered editors who choose to enable it. Since you have made 50 or more edits with VisualEditor this year, I want to make sure that you know that you can enable VisualEditor (if you haven't already done so) by going to your preferences and choosing the item, "MediaWiki:Visualeditor-preference-enable". This will give you the option of using VisualEditor on articles and userpages when you want to, and give you the opportunity to spot changes in the interface and suggest improvements. We value your feedback, whether positive or negative, about using VisualEditor, at Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback. Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 20:11, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
