Speedy deletion declined: Australian International School Dhaka

Hello Usb10. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Australian International School Dhaka, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 does not apply to schools. Thank you. Nancy talk 15:16, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. I forgot that A7 doesn't work with schools. Usb10 Connected?

Do you think that CSD per "db-person" would be appropriate instead? Saebvn (talk) 18:49, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Probably. I shouldn't have marked it with a BLP prod. You are welcome to change it to db-person if you want. Usb10 Connected? 18:52, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think I will do so. Thanks. Saebvn (talk) 19:03, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And someone beat me to it. Thanks anyway. Saebvn (talk) 19:04, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I hope you won't mind, but I've changed your CSD tag to db-attack and blanked the page. The statement might have been a poor joke or a non notable person, but it could have been about a real person and their real place of work.Cheers, --Kudpung (talk) 14:10, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hasty tagging of PRECAST CONCRETE REPAIR

Hello again! I saw you tagged PRECAST CONCRETE REPAIR under WP:CSD#A1 two minutes after it was created. I suggest you wait at least ten minutes before taking action unless it is an attack page or vandalism. That way, the author has a chance to expand the article. This goes for all CSD tags, but especially A1, which claims that deletion is warranted because of lack of context, which could be added in the next few minutes. If you haven't already, WP:WIHS would be good to look at. I thank you for doing the rather thankless job of new page patrolling, however; this backlog could always use another hand. Have you considered hacking from the back of the logs (after a month, they're not considered new pages anymore, so it's a race against time to patrol all of them!) Hope all things Wiki are going well; my talk page is always open! Regards, Airplaneman 23:49, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings! Just so you know, we have a WP:CSD category for unambiguous advertising. You can tag an article under this category by placing {{db-spam}} at the top of the article instead of WP:PRODing it. Thanks, Tyrol5 [Talk] 21:53, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I knew that but I didn't know exactly if G12 would apply to something like an event or if G12 only applied to something like a product or a company. Usb10 Connected? 21:56, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nope. It can be just about anything for it to apply. So long as the only purpose of the article is to advertise/promote its subject. Keep up the good work. Tyrol5 [Talk] 22:00, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Attack?

Um, I don't think this is an attack page. A redirect to Circumcision would do.  Chzz  ►  21:20, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One reviewer is wondering if this article is ready to be closed. Though we don't have a photo, the article is as broad in ocverage as other GA mammal articles such as Swift fox and should satisfy the general reader. I urge that it be promoted to GA but you are the principal reviewer and the decision is yours. Susanne2009NYC (talk) 08:50, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I cant see where a formal request for a second reviewer has been made per {{GA nominee|...|status=2ndopinion}}, but it's possible I'm missing something. Otherwise, as a non involved party, I'll be happy to take it on and decide one way or the other within the strict recommendations of GA review policy. iI I find that it can pass without an illustration, and everything else is fine, we may be on the road to a rapid close.--Kudpung (talk) 02:45, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

USB10, I think you might want to make a final decision. Given your latest comment on the review page, you seem to think Florida Mouse meets the criteria. (I agree, BTW). Best. Diderot's dreams (talk) 16:50, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, two of the pictures are off-topic. I wouldn't pass the article with them in it as they are inappropriate. I have commented at the article. Best. Diderot's dreams (talk) 22:02, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and I do think this review needs to be finished up over the next few days. If you want me to do this, I would be happy to take over the review, make some final efforts with the nominator, and make a final evaluation. But maybe you do, so let me know one way or the other ASAP. It's your decision, of course. Thanks! Diderot's dreams (talk) 00:14, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I think you did everything you needed to. Gimmebot has been by the talk page and implemented the article history template which includes the GA listing. Everything seems proper and the article is in the proper topic category. So I think everything is fine. Best. Diderot's dreams (talk) 02:10, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for tagging Eric Yahnker's page for additional references. If you're so inclined you can add some references yourself to help build the page. There's a list of press on hiswebsite.Warrenking (talk) 18:57, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mac issues

Hi, I have two quick questions - maybe you can help:

  • ADo you use Hiuggle on Mac, and if so is it reliable and worth the hassle downloading and installing it? (I use 10.6.4 on a variety of new and not so new machines).
  • Do you have any idea why New Page Patroller script has suddely stopped functioning 3 days ago?

I'm getting no response from talk or support pages. Tanks.--Kudpung (talk) 01:26, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't use Huggle on the Mac(I don't have rollback rights) so I don't know anything about using it on the Mac with Wine. As far as the New Page Patroller script, it works fine with me on Safari(maybe you use a different browser that it doesn't work with?) Cheers. Usb10 Connected? 14:56, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have several recent Macs in my office including two 2-core Do machine, all running on 10.6.4 and Safari 5.0.2 (build 6533.18.5). New Page Patroller script just simply stopped working three days ago and disappered from the Wiki GUI. iGloo works on iFrefox, but Ffox does not display Wikipedia images, hence the button bar is missing.--Kudpung (talk) 22:20, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well the best I can say is: open Safari, check your security preferences and check your JavaScript preferences. The New Page Patroller script uses AJAX to display the box in the toolbar, so make sure your little brother hasn't screwed up anything about your JavaScript settings ;). Cheers.
