26th of December

[edit]

I´ve been updating the last and next game of nearly all the national football teams in Wikipedia for many months and now everything has gone. This information was trustworthy and wasn´t fake. Why did you have to revert this information from every single article of every national football team? I don´t understand why you did this. Answer me when possible. "Written by Qampunen."

You said you discussed this with other members of Wikipedia. Where? Utc-100 (talk) 11:49, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When I registered into Wikipedia I replied by hotmail asking if adding the next and last game of the national football teams was a good idea and they accepted. But now everything is reverted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Qampunen (talkcontribs) 14:07, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Which members and where can I see it? Utc-100 (talk) 16:35, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you think it´s a good idea if I could make an article in which I included the results and forthcoming fixtures of international football? (venue, stadium, assistance...). I would make sure it is updated every day. (You may revert this after you see it) (This is just and example of the structure and the format the article would have). Qampunen (talk) 12:27, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It depends on whether a fixtures and results section already exists. See this page for example. If there is already a page or section, you can't make a duplication. If there isn't a page or section then yes. Utc-100 (talk) 16:58, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much. The page which you´ve shown me only shows the results and fixtures of the Brazilian national football team, so I think it will be fine if I made this article. Again, thank you.Qampunen (talk) 18:54, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

People's Liberation Army

[edit]

Hello. You have recently added a link to a Swedish website to the article People's Liberation Army. Would you mind checking it against the three criteria for linking to non-English pages and explaining how the website satisfies these criteria? Thank you. Andrzej Kmicic (talk) 06:36, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't add it there for promotion. It's already been there for several months. Utc-100 (talk) 12:05, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry, I should have used the word "reinserted" instead of "added". Nevertheless, I still think the link to a website in Swedish does not meet any of the criteria listed in the Manual of Style:
  • when the website is the subject of the article
  • when linking to pages with maps, diagrams, photos, tables (explain the key terms with the link, so that people who do not know the language can interpret them)
  • when the webpage contains key or authoritative information found on no English-language site and is used as a citation (or when translations on English-language sites are not authoritative).
Therefore the link should be deleted. Would you object if I remove it? Andrzej Kmicic (talk) 15:54, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure but I think you should ask whoever added that link there in the first place, as I looked at the Swedish Wiki and the link is there. So maybe the same person/s worked on both the Swedish and Englilsh artices. Utc-100 (talk) 01:14, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the original author can always reinsert the link and provide explanation if he or she wants to. But I believe the link should be removed because it does not meet any of the criteria listed above. As you have reinserted it again, could you tell me please which of the criteria in the Manual of Style the link meets? Andrzej Kmicic (talk) 03:13, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I definitely think that whoever wants to remove it should at least try to find out why it was put there in the first place. Utc-100 (talk) 16:35, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Lumosity

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Lumosity requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 06:32, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Beijing

[edit]

Hey Utc-100! I'm currently planning the launch of the WikiProject Beijing, depending on if enough other editors would be interested in such a project. I saw you have edited the main Beijing page recently or in several times in the past and therefor might be interested. If you are, please sign: User:Poeloq/WikiProject_Beijing. As I am posting this to quite a few editors, I am not watching your page and would ask you to reply with any comment or questions on my talk page. Cheers, Poeloq (talk) 21:20, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Summer Olympic Games

[edit]

I removed the link because it formerly linked to the page of a retired pornographic actress, and now linked to the cellist for Cloud Cult, which I doubt is the proper link. I've reverted the edit, and changed the mistake I made. ErikTheBikeMan (talk) 16:00, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for one month

[edit]

I have just blocked you for one month for abusive sockpuppetry, as witnessed by the contents of Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of Utc-100, the fruits of my CheckUser investigation. I have refrained from blocking you indefinitely on the grounds that you have made positive contributions to the encyclopaedia. I urge you to restrict yourself to using one account in future. I recognise in particular that you may well have other sockpuppets that I haven't yet found: I urge you also not to use these. Sam Korn (smoddy) 10:56, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
