Mission Statement

I'm going to add that as an option to the infobox, I'll post on your talk page when I get it working. Stealthound 16:36, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

Hi Vandy. You asked how to add an image to the infobox. I'm no expert, but you can upload an image from your computer if you have one, but it has to be licensed for free use - no copyright restrictions. (click on upload file on the left of the screen and follow insructions). If that is not possible, download an image of an album cover from say Amazon or AMG, then upload here, and choose "album cover" under licensing. If you'd like I can do the album cover image, have done plenty of those so far. Just let me know which one. Cricket02 01:10, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good. Now just put the name into the image field in the infobox. Here are a few articles I've started with infoboxes if you need something to reference: [Bradley Joseph]], Alfreda Gerald, Charlie Adams (drummer), Charlie Bisharat, Karen Briggs. Remember to add a "fair-use rationale". Hey, I noticed earlier on your userpage that you started an article for Homerun Inn. I'm from there and it made me miss the food! Cricket02 01:26, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good. I added a pretty standard fair-use rationale to the image. If you'd like you can remove and re-copy it into the summary with your own signature - does not matter. Good luck. Cricket02 18:55, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Info from Fort Smith, Arkansas

[edit]

Hi, I was reviewing edits to the Fort Smith article and notice you removed the following as vandalism; The jail cell below Judge Parker's courthouse was infamous for its unsanitary conditions and dangerous inmates. It was a single room where thieves, rapists, and murderers of all kinds awaited trial. The cell was nicknamed "Hell on the Border," but after the jail was closed the name began to be regularly applied to the city of Fort Smith. Today, "Hell on the Border" is still the official nickname of the city. I can assure you it was not vandalism (ref: http://www.nps.gov/archive/fosm/history/radio/38.htm). I am wondering about your familiarity of the the area and why you removed it as "vandalism"? Are you aware of something that I am missing? The hanging judge was brutal, in a brutal place at a brutal time. -- Xltel 23:08, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

vandalism

[edit]

I did not vandalize the Hinsdale Central page at all. Inaccurate information was posted on the website, such as the average act was 2, and the class size was three students, and there were only 11 teachers in the school. I saw the need to fix it with accurate information from the schools website in order to keep wikipedia as accurate as possible. Do you mind telling me why you had the urge to say I vandalized it? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mathut1 (talkcontribs) 05:53, 5 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Poor excuses

[edit]

Thanks for fixing the first paragraph of List of largest suspension bridges. I appreciate the improvements you have made. But may be so bold to suggest that you tone down your edit comments? Calling something a "poor excuse for an introductory paragraph", however true it may be, is not going to ingratiate you with the editors who contributed to that paragraph. It is not the best way to introduce yourself to the people who have been working on the page, after all, they are the only people who will probably see your edit comment. Your comment was like saying, "I'm here, don't mess with me, I know what I'm doing and you don't". People like myself (I happened to have written that disgraceful paragraph), will consider you with a suspicious eye. I will try to assume good faith that you meant well. -- Samuel Wantman 07:42, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm an alien

Loved the vandalism from some random guy. "This user identifies as an alien." It's probably true. Esrever 16:11, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimania in Atlanta!

Instead of dropping another template on your page, I sent a notice to Esrever that may interest you too. Read his talk page and find out about it. Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 08:09, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Alicepeacock.jpg)

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:Alicepeacock.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 20:05, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Home Run Inn

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Home Run Inn, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

unreferenced article about a relatively small chain of restaurants. Lacks significant coverage in 3rd pary sources

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Pictures of the Vanderbilt campus

[edit]

Hello. I see you've attended or are attending Vanderbilt. Are you able to take pictures of the campus? If you are, I will let you know what is needed specifically. Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 14:09, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Home Run Inn

[edit]

The article Home Run Inn has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (companies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back. Thank you,

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
