Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

What can I do now?

I understand that I made a mistake by including a web site link on my page and that is not acceptable. I am sorry, and I promise not to post anything to this page that is promotional. I only want to write about the history of the company. I hope to contribute to future content with regards to helping people understand the history of cloud computing. I would like to comply with the rules. The company name that I will be writing a history on is independenceIT and I realize you do not allow a user name to begin with a lowercase letter, so would IndependenceIT work as a new user name? I will only write about the history of the company, as I feel the company plays an important role in the overall history of cloud computing. In reading the user name policy again, I think I have a better understanding of where I went wrong when creating a user name. I hope this is acceptable. I will be very careful with my post so that it contains only factual information. I will not include anything that would be considered promotional. Given that your only edits have been to create a spammy user page (as a draft article?) about your company, please explain - in detail - the topics you intend to edit when unblocked. Nick-D (talk) 05:15, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please read WP:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest. Do you understand it, and are you willing to agree to comply with it? Wikipedia is extremely resistant to being used for any kind of promotion, and we find that users with a conflict of interest very often have a different idea from ours of what is or is not promotional.
