strtok

[edit]

The article that I deleted, back in December, was very short and consisted only of the words:

According to the man page for string.h "avoid using these functions (strtok & strtok_r)" Practical experience shows that do not consistently provided the desired output. It is better to write you own function over using strtok or strtok_r.

That was a remark, not an encyclopedia article, it did not explain what it was about, and I deleted it under speedy deletion WP:CSD#A1 as an article "lacking sufficient context to identify the subject of the article." There is no reason why you should not write an article about this. Read WP:Your first article for advice, and be careful not to copy text from elsewhere, though you need to cite references for what you say. See if you can find existing articles about similar functions, which might help show you how they should be written. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 17:40, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
