proposed delete of good grief[edit]

hi, i originally proposed to delete good grief, but after seeing all the hard work you've put into it, i realise i was wrong! i think now that it looks so much better, it's much more accessible and definitely worth keeping. so i guess this is an apology! -- ConDem 17:22, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiquote[edit]

The quotes you guys are trying to do probably belong on Wikiquote. (See [1]). I'm monitoring your situation very closely (on your boards and on here) and would be glad to help so feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions. zellin t / c 17:45, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I personally think that the article for The One Where Michael Leaves has a good format. Some things that Good Grief has are unnecessary - quotes (which belong on Wikiquote) and goofs (which can be subjective, which is a no-no on Wikipedia. As far as a WikiProject is concerned, it may be better (on second thought) to put a guide on the OP forums in a very visible place on how to make one of these articles. Some things that should be included in these, in addition to the general format of The One Where Michael Leaves as you made it, should be the addition of and spoiler tags. Also, a guide on how and when to make wiki links is probably a good idea. I would also advise anyone who plans on contributing to create a user account as it makes it easier for Wikipedians to contact them. Feel free to leave any more questions on my talk page. zellin t / c 18:12, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed on the forums you referred to me as a "she"... I take no offense but I am, in fact, a man ;-)! zellin t / c 18:17, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That is a good start that you put up on the forums. As for Lindsay's incorrect listing, either Lindsay or Lindsay will work as well. Make sure that your members know that a wiki link is only necessary for the first mention of a character. Also, other things that may have articles on Wikipedia (such as Blue Man Group or Army) also warrant wiki links. I also want to alert you to a problem with Barry Zuckerkorn, who has been added to some articles as Zuckercorn (with a 'c'). zellin t / c 18:31, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Looking good so far. You can let Beamer know that it's my pleasure. Also, I would probably continue going against Musty Old Claptrap's initial suggestion - a mass submission in order to get publicity would be frowned upon. zellin t / c 23:58, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, this is a little like Palpatine and Vader. I noticed that there is some question as to which episodes are done; there has already been a list of AD episodes here: List of Arrested Development episodes. Red links, obviously, have not been started, but some of the blue ones (such as Bringing Up Buster) are only a little beyond that point. And I wouldn't be too concerned about Bringing Up Buster's possible deletion, Wikipedia policy already exists on this matter and the current apathetic voting reflects that. zellin t / c 00:18, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also, sorry Musty Old Claptrap! zellin t / c 00:20, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I love your Cornballer article. I was going to suggest more miscellaneous articles like these! Please add them to . Also, in episode articles that reference these things, don't forget to wikify ;-) zellin t / c 01:36, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am pretty sure I removed all of the attention tags, but you guys can feel free to remove them once the articles look good. To revert, you can go to the "history" tab, and click on the version you want to revert to, click "edit this page", then save that version. zellin t / c 03:19, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I just wanted to address Zegota's concern. On Wikipedia, it only takes one person to put a page up for deletion - this person was not aware of the existing precedence for TV episodes on Wikipedia. I would not be concerned at all for anything like this in the future regarding episode articles. However, we may eventually see all the miscellaneous articles (The Cornballer, Les Cousins Dangereux, Bananagrabber, etc) get pushed into one "Arrested Development miscellany" article. That is what happened with The Colbert Report (see The Colbert Report recurring elements, which is a very good article). I wouldn't be too worried though, just make sure you only write these types of articles about important, recurring elements. zellin t / c 00:51, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I had actually thought that would be something that would make sense anyway, since most of the running gags don't have TOO much to say about them, and probably wouldn't have much meaning outside the confines of the show. I figure we might split the page for Arrested Development characters into lead characters and supporting characters, too. If we did something like that, though, would it be possible to have a more direct link, like one that has the target from the URL? As it is, a link to Kitty Sanchez only goes to the main page, and makes it hard to find the information about Kitty. --Vcalzone 01:54, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nevermind! Just found it! [ [ Kitty Sanchez#Kitty Sanchez|Kitty ] ] --Vcalzone 01:59, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not move the pages as has been discussed on the forums. zellin t / c 23:07, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for heeding my advice ;-). I imagine Leez will be upset, but precedent already exists for this (see the list of Simpsons episodes); titles are usually only clarified when needed due to another, preexisting article. You may find other TV episode lists that go the other way, but they are doing so out of line with existing procedure. When this happens, it is also probably a good idea to put a note at the top of the preexisting page in italics, noting that the user may also be looking for the AD episode, with a link provided of course. zellin t / c 04:11, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Leez, a page already exists for Switch hitter. The disctinction is in capitalization. Like I said above, when you have two articles that have otherwise identical titles, it is a good idea to put a note at the top of each page in italics that the user may be looking for the other page. Obviously this is not neccesary when there is an (Arrested Development episode) distinction, as someone looking for the show Family Ties would never type in "Family Ties (Arrested Development episode)". However, someone may (and would likely) type in "Family Ties" if they were looking for the episode, so there is a note on that page saying so. zellin t / c 18:26, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Vcalzone. I just wanted to let you guys know that the project is coming along very nicely. Also, observing the project has increased my interest in AD, and I am re-re-re-watching Seasons 1 and 2. I am also trying to download Season 3 episodes from BitTorrent, but seven of the episodes (For British Eyes Only, Forget Me Now, Mr. F, SOBs, Fakin' It, Family Ties, and Exit Strategy) haven't made any progress. I am downloading the iPod versions from this page. I am a bit new to BitTorrent, so is there something else I should be trying? Or will they start up eventually? You can respond to me via e-mail: zellin@mac.com. Thanks! zellin t / c 16:02, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Arrested Development - Les cousins dangereaux.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Arrested Development - Les cousins dangereaux.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:12, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Features[edit]

Hi. Actually, I have nothing against the re-creation of a good, sourced article. I just forgot to reply to your earlier message on that subject. The page isn't protected from re-creation so just go ahead and do it. It may be safest to make a note on the talk page that the article was deleted once but that this version is based on solid sources (which you seem to have plenty of). Pascal.Tesson 15:52, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I went ahead and restored it as it was deleted through the PROD process and there are now sources for it. Please use the sources listed on the talk page along with any others you have to improve the article. Have a good one! Wickethewok 15:53, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Good grief, I see why you deleted it now! Yeah, I'll have to fix that. Give me a few days and I'll put together whatever I can find. I'll try posting to a few communities to see if I can get them to join in, too. Thanks very much, guys! Vcalzone 19:23, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Sample parrish.ogg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sample parrish.ogg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --OrphanBot 05:10, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Arrested Development - Bringing Up Buster2.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Arrested Development - Bringing Up Buster2.jpg.

Thank you. If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jay32183 (talk) 20:41, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:Features logo.jpg)[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Features logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 18:23, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Sample parrish.ogg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Sample parrish.ogg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
