A tag has been placed on Example of Building Contractors www.merrybros.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Take a breather

[edit]

Vicki,

As a new user, you have stumbled upon one of the biggest problems at Wikipedia: people who write articles about themselves or their companies (or their bands or their whatever). The articles are generally overly promotional, which is not allowed at Wikipedia, and the subjects of the articles often do not meet the criteria for inclusion.

Please keep in mind that Wikipedia is not a business directory. It is not intended to be a place where the local Pembrokeshire customers will come to look for someone to fix up their kitchen. In order for a company to be covered in Wikipedia, it must have been the topic of multiple instances of significant coverage in reliable sources. For Merry Bros, that would mean that the company had been profiled in a national trade journal at the very least.

Also, please understand that phrases such as "As a company we are committed to customer service" can only be seen as an attempt to promote the company. Wikipedia articles must be written in neutral language with no attempt to promote (or denigrate) the company, but rather to neutrally present the facts that are known (and verifiable) about it.

I hope you take the time to read through the policies I have linked to in this message, and that when you are done, you can come back and contribute meaningfully. Probably not about Merry Bros, but perhaps in the area of general contracting, construction, etc. If you know about this company, you may well know about those areas in general.

Good luck. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:33, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Take Back: Vicki Brace
