Infobox

Hi VT, I am not sure why you think that the infobox needs to depict the most current generation? From WP:CARPIX:

The image field displays an image of the subject vehicle to display in the infobox. The image used in the Infobox must comply with the standards outlined in the images section of WikiProject Automobiles/Conventions. Use an image showing the front three-quarter view (the vehicle parked at an angle relative to the photographer so that the photo shows the front and side of the vehicle) preferably taken against a non-distracting background with appropriate lighting. Enter the image file name and file type extension only.

Nothing about most current generation. It should be of a relevant car (ie, if the first generation was super popular worldwide and the third generation was only sold in Yemen in small numbers, don't depict the third). As a matter of fact, the main picture can even change every few months, hopping between generations. Now that I think about it, maybe this could be automatically generated? That would be cool.

In the end, this is an encyclopedia. People look up things that happened in the past. Thus, there is absolutely no need for the first photo to be of the most recent one. Thanks,  Mr.choppers | ✎  01:48, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

Re: Constructive changes to Suzuki Vitara

Hi VictorTorres,

I noticed you have reverted my edits. I was checking the websites that were linked there, to see if it is still being sold in that country. I have checked all that were listed, to see if there had been any changes. Other than the link for Bahrain now being dead, and the current lack of information, I was going to take it off the list of countries where it is still sold.

The 3rd generation Vitara was never assembled in the United States of America, nor was there a 6-Speed Manual Transmission ever available. It is also still being produced for these countries, though it is no longer sold in Japan. So it should be listed as 'extended production continues', if not being listed as '2005-present'.

This information is incorrect and is part of the reason I was trying to change it. That is why I believe you have made a mistake in reverting my edits.

Thanks for your attention.

Regards, 110.174.81.16 (talk) 11:09, 11 January 2019 (UTC)

Edits

I did not make unconstructive edits to the Toyota Hilux entry. I added information provided to the public by Toyota, that precisely fits into the framework of the page and the style of information therein.

Why are you under the impression my edits were unconstructive? Be specific.

And in what way do you think reverting my edits is constructive? Be specific.

And how is using arbitrary fragments of model numbers somehow more valid than the correct manufacturer model numbers? Please explain.

Hey Victor! To the message you sent on Carmelo Anthony, you’re absolutely correct that it was an error. An article you recently created, 2019–20 Los Angeles Lakers season, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can develope the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 10:15, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi @DannyS712:, Thanks for letting me know because I've just recently created the said article but since that page doesn't have sources yet but I put a hatnote that the page doesn't have sources yet. I'm planning though to add more sources to that article so it would be ready though. And also it is my first time creating an article though, I'm quite not yet familiar yet with the guidelines on articles, only quite I'm always used to reverting vandalism. Thanks for the reminder! Cheers! VictorTorres2002 (talk) 15:41, 30 April 2019 (UTC)

Model year

About the "model year" edit that I made in the Daihatsu Terios article, I decided to removed it because the manufacturer actually never determined the year in the first place. Moreover, the model year has actually very little usage outside of North America.125.161.8.121 (talk) 01:54, 13 May 2019 (UTC)

Because on every article, model years parameter are always included as stated, the 3rd generation Daihatsu Terios is not sold in North America and it is only sold in Asian markets since 2018. You don't need to remove that parameter on the infobox. VictorTorres2002 (talk) 02:01, 13 May 2019 (UTC)

Pronouns

Hi, I just noticed you reverted my edit changing a couple of personal pronouns to the surname on Kawhi Leonard's wikipedia page. I do believe, however, that it would be proper to use Leonard's surname instead of another personal pronoun when reporting a new fact about him in the lead. What do you think?

Ntrkz (talk) 13:54, 17 June 2019 (UTC)

Hello Ntrkz, I think the best way is to use the personal pronoun as his last name is already mentioned in the beginning of the second paragraph. There's no need to mention his last name again several times. I hoped you've understand it. Cheers! :-) VictorTorres2002 (talk) 14:03, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
Hey, thanks for the clarification. I find the use of the surname more correct, but this might be a personal quirk. I will defer to your judgment. Ntrkz (talk) 14:09, 17 June 2019 (UTC)

Eaglesfan1101, The trade of Anthony Davis to the Lakers won't be official until July 6. As of now, James is still wearing his old jersey number, the number "23". If you continue to ignore the hidden note by changing the jersey number in the infobox, I'll report you to the WP:ANI if you continue to edit war again on that page. So please don't do it again until the trade becomes official on July 6. Regards. VictorTorres2002 (talk) 07:25, 1 July 2019 (UTC)

use of term "truck simulator"

Hello Victor,

I am relatively new to Wiki, so I hope this message works.

If you type the term "car simulator" into Wiki, you will be directed to the "driving simulator" page that describes driving simulators for entertainment and for driver training. However, the term "truck simulator" only leads to a page that describes a commercial gaming application. It might make more sense and be more neutral to create the same redirection for the entry "truck simulator" as for "car simulator". I do not know how to do this redirection, so I thought that Wiki users would at the very least want to know that truck simulators exist for driver training, as described on the driving simulator page.

Do you have another suggestion for achieving the goal of treating the term "truck simulator" the same way as "car simulator"?

Let me know what you think. Pierrot2007 (talk) 20:24, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

(Pierrot2007 (talk) 20:24, 28 June 2019 (UTC))

--Pierrot2007 (talk) 19:32, 1 July 2019 (UTC) Hello Victor,

I was expecting a reply to my message after your deleted the edits I made to the truck simulator page. As I wrote, "car simulator" leads to the "driving simulator" page where both training simulators and entertainment simulators are mentioned. Something similar should occur when someone searches under the phrase, "truck simulator".

If you do not agree, please explain why.

Thanks (Pierrot2007 (talk) 19:32, 1 July 2019 (UTC))

Pierrot2007, I have no idea on what you were talking about. And please seek consensus at the page's talkpage on explaining your changes before re-adding it. Regards VictorTorres2002 (talk) 22:10, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
Also the term "Truck Simulator" is SCS Software's series of truck simulators. Yeah, treating the term "truck simulator" is also the same way as "car simulator" since both of them are vehicle simulation, although your driving different vehicles in a simulated world.

User:Barneysss Vandalism

Barneysss (talk)

Can you investigate this user? This user Barneysss has already disrupted and ruined a lot of numerous articles related to Philippine teleseryes (including Kadenang Ginto page). He has a habit of restoring and reverting all edits from others users and editors. Barneysss is using the Wikipedia guidelines and rules as an "excuse" in order to "protect" all the pages he edits. I hope someone will stop this user. -120.29.73.66 (talk) 14:27, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
120.29.73.66, From so far to say as that his edits are not vandalism, but I noticed that he might be disruptive editing (removal of content without concensus). You could just report it here at WP:ANI and explain what happened, or just ask help on any available admins on their talkpage such as Oshwah, NinjaRobotPirate, etc... Best. Your edits at Mitsubishi Fuso Canter page

May i know why you keep deleting the area about reading the canter's model codes? - the section followed the guidelines Ken.Aoki0329 (talk) 13:40, 12 September 2019 (UTC)

i believe we may need a dispute resolution as there is no reason stated for the revert Ken.Aoki0329 (talk) 13:46, 12 September 2019 (UTC)

Ken.Aoki0329, I did not quite notice that you've added the model codes. I also found out on this article. It has the similarities you've added. To end this article dispute, I highly agree that the "Model designation" should be re-added back on the article. VictorTorres2002 (talk) 14:03, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for taking the time to reply - it is actually not too similar to the article you've cited since information i added was specifically just for canter models, and it also takes into consideration the canters produced after 1999 with a different model code 5th digit. please take a look at my edit and please re-add it if you think it is useful. but in my honest opinion i think it is since you could immediately determine the specs by just looking at the model code.. Thanks! Have a great day! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ken.Aoki0329 (talkcontribs) 14:28, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
Ken.Aoki0329, I'll take concideration first and make some adjustments before readding it. And also don't forget to sign your comments while on a talkpage. Happy editing! VictorTorres2002 (talk) 14:35, 12 September 2019 (UTC)

VictorTorres2002 Good day, i would like to ask about the status of re-adding? Ken.Aoki0329 (talk) 00:55, 13 September 2019 (UTC)

Ken.Aoki0329, You can ask other fellow editors like Mr.choppers or Stepho-wrs on their talkpage regarding the readdition of the content you've added at Mitsubishi Fuso Canter. I don't have time right now to edit. Regards. VictorTorres2002 (talk) 02:57, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
Hello, I added it (with some very minor style adjustments). There is probably some completing information needed if anyone knows more.  Mr.choppers | ✎  03:03, 14 September 2019 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – October 2019

News and updates for administrators from the past month (September 2019).

Guideline and policy news

  • Following a discussion, a new criterion for speedy category renaming was added: C2F: One eponymous article, which applies if the category contains only an eponymous article or media file, provided that the category has not otherwise been emptied shortly before the nomination. The default outcome is an upmerge to the parent categories.

Technical news

  • As previously noted, tighter password requirements for Administrators were put in place last year. Wikipedia should now alert you if your password is less than 10 characters long and thus too short.

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

WP:UAA reports on users with no edits

Generally, there is no reason to report usernames with no edits whatsoever. Per WP:UAAI: "Wait until the user edits. Do not report a user that hasn't edited unless they are clearly a vandal. We do not want to welcome productive editors with a report at UAA, nor do we want to waste our time dealing with accounts that may never be used." The exceptions are obvious hate speech or names that attack a living person/Wikipedia editor, those are blockable even without any edits, but other run-of-the-mill violations such as names of organizations or products need not be reported unless and until they at least attempt to edit, and you should be able to clearly explain what the problem is if it is not immediately evident.

For whatever reason, every day dozens, if not hundreds of accounts are created that never make one single edit. It is our responsibility as admins to conscientiously review every report a user makes at UAA, so we have to check for contribs, deleted contribs, and tripping of the edit filter for every one of these reports, only to find out there's nothing there and therefore no problem to be solved. That's time that could be spent doing more productive things, but you basically obligate admins to do it by making such reports. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:28, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

Beeblebrox, I do really apologize for my mistake, because that user I've reported, was representing a group or organization, so I did not know that the user I've reported didn't made any edits yet. Next time I won't do that mistake again whenever I report a user violating the username policy at WP:UAA. Also I already saw the "Wait until the user edits" tag when I checked the UAA several hours ago before you posted this notice on my talkpage. Regards.
