Earlier this week I wrote to customer service concerning the inaccuracies and use of copyrighted materials for wiki Eugene Debbs Potts. In the email I asked you to intervene but told you that I would not make any changes unti I heard from you. I went ahead later that evening and tried editing on the chance he wouldn't find out about the changes before he was locked out. I logged in today the 13th and see all the changes I made are gone. When you say you wrote to customer service, do you mean your post here: Wikipedia:Editor assistance/Requests#Eugene "Debs" Potts? As implied there, Wikipedia does not have customer service, per se. We are a community of volunteer editors, many of whom are anonymous. When you say "I asked you to intervene", I'm confused since you did not ask me to intervene, nor am I a member of "customer service". I'm also not sure what you mean by "on the chance he wouldn't find out about the changes before he was locked out". I think that perhaps you don't understand how Wikipedia works, but if I am mistaken, please explain again what you mean. If you read the talk page for the article: Talk:Eugene "Debbs" Potts, you will see that I explained that the person in question had not in fact written the article. It was written by a volunteer Wikipedia editor who used sources he found on the Internet, including the site with which you have an issue. As I explained on the edit summary and on the article's talk page, the additions you made were not appropriate in tone for an encyclopedia and seemed to be an advertisement for Pottsville, which violates a couple of our guidelines, including "What Wikipedia is Not" and "Neutral point-of-view". After considering the link in question and discussing it with a few other editors, we decided that the site is not a reliable source, so I will edit the article accordingly and hopefully that will take care of the problem. Please click on the blue links provided to you on this talk page and read (or at least skim!) so you can see how we do things there. I realize we have a lot of confusing rules so let me know if you have any other questions. I think further discussion about Eugene "Debbs" Potts should take place here: Talk:Eugene "Debbs" Potts.
