Disambiguation link notification for October 13[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ergun City, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Russian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:21, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, World Anti-fascist War Hailar Memorial Park, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. signed, Rosguill talk 07:37, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Villagethings. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "World Anti-fascist War Hailar Memorial Park".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 18:05, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

October 2020[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Great Wall of Qi, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Megan☺️ Talk to the monster 19:12, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There definitely was good reason for changing the title after I added information about the walls of the Zhao and other states. The Qin is one of seven states during the time period that built walls. I don't think it would work to spread the information on the wall built by each state in separate articles because information is scarce for some states like the Zhao. Request reason:

I am editing from China. Wikipedia is blocked and a VPN is required. I believe the other accounts linked to my account are using the same VPN conduit. Villagethings (talk) 9:13 pm, 17 October 2020, Saturday (1 month, 2 days ago) (UTC+1)

Decline reason:

Please read Wikipedia:Open proxies for why we cannot unblock your account. And here's a quote from Jimbo Wales on the matter: "In general, I like living in a world with anonymous proxies. I wish them well. There are many valid uses for them. But, writing on Wikipedia is not one of the valid uses." SilkTork (talk) 08:41, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@SilkTork. There seems to be an exemption for China. Can I qualify for it? "Additionally, because of the creation of the IP block exemption flag, editors, like those in China, who have a demonstrated need to use proxies or Tor to edit may be given the ability to edit from blocked IPs." Villagethings (talk) 06:00, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't an exemption for China due to the possibility of abuse. However, editors in good standing can apply for exemption. See Wikipedia:Advice to users using Tor and WP:IPECPROXY. You'll need to email a checkuser at checkuser-en-wp@wikipedia.org and explain your position, including giving your user name and pointing out the sockpuppet investigation at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/LaurelWest/Archive. Given the situation, you are highly unlikely to be given an exception. Your best approach would be to take the Wikipedia:Standard offer: Wait at least six months without attempting to edit Wikipedia through any account, Tor or not; and make a fresh appeal being clear and honest about what happened. There's no guarantee that you will be unblocked, but that's likely to be your best route. SilkTork (talk) 13:15, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
