Mind your own[edit]

Please mind your own business, which is Counter Vandalism. You're not an official of this site, you're not even an official moderator of Wiki. I put my signature under my work because I post code that is paid much more attention to. No need for you to remove my name. That's not your job. Furthermore - and much more important - the insights I post are as interpreted by me and should never be considered the absolute truth. So when I post something, my name goes there as well, and I take responsibility of what I post. Whoa. First of all, I always assume good faith. I understand you're trying to help Wikipedia, as am I. My "business" is not limited to combatting vandalism - I also try to improve the encyclopedia in general. If by "official moderator", you mean "administrator", then no, I am not. However, I still have the ability to remove your signature from the main namespace. I've already cited the relevant Wikipedia policy. Also, priority is not given to contributors who post things that are "paid more attention to". It is my job to improve Wikipedia. You do not own the content you submitted, as you submitted it under the GNU Free Documentation License. Please see Wikipedia:Ownership. I appreciate you taking responsibility for what you post, but as for your own insights, please see Wikipedia:Neutral Point of View. On my talk page, you said "Next time I'll file a complaint". I sincerely hope this doesn't come to that. If you feel it is necessary, you can find the dispute resolution policy here. Re: You vandalized a page[edit]

You removed the C++ code from the Template Method Pattern page. That's the code I've written. You removed it for your own insights only, without discussing it first. By leaving the Java code intact you implicitly use that as some standard to communicate with. Furthermore, you didn't notify me. You didn't change the code, you completely removed it! I'm not amused by your style. Please leave the code alone and discuss matters first before you destroy other's people work. My time is limited but as soon as I have the time I'll restore the C++ code. Next time I consider you a vandal. I would refer you to Wikipedia:Egoless editing, except it hasn't been written yet. :) FYI, "your" code is still accessible via the page history; you don't need to retype the whole thing, if you were relying on Wikipedia to keep a copy around for you indefinitely. However, besides my comments on that Talk page, I'd like to point you to this proposal, and also give you a gentle nudge in the direction of Wikibooks, if you feel like contributing lots of source code to a Wikimedia project. --23:51, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

The problem is that my time is limited. Especially when it comes to C++ where accuracy (= concentration) is needed. That makes it worse when you remove code without discussing your issues first. Now I'm almost forced to read your pages to understand your drive. You don't deserve it at this moment but hey... that's the kind of guy I am. Maybe you have good ideas, maybe not, it's not relevant right now. The main topic is that you shouldn't remove code on your own for your own insights. The code you submitted does not belong to you: please see Wikipedia:Ownership. It does not matter whether you want complete control of it or not, you were warned explicitly, and still agreed to license your content under the GFDL. Quuxplusone is not required to notify the author of submitted content upon its deletion. Also, other people have every right in the world to edit pages on their own, without consulting you. He/she did justify his edits on the article talk page, and you could revert it with an explanation if you disagree.
