Wildcat well[edit]

Your article Wildcat well has been slated for speedy deletion because it was not an article in itself, but a request for an article. The propoer place to request articles is Wikipedia:Requested articles. Those folks will help you out. Realkyhick 04:36, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I had to delete the article you created since it was not appropriate, but I wanted to at least leave you a partial answer. You are correct that Wikipedia does not not have very much what a wildcat well is. There is only brief mention of it at Oil well. It is indeed an exploratory well, the difference that makes it a wildcat is that the well is in a place not known for having oil deposits. A bit of Googling produced this which gives an explanation of why it's called a wildcat well. -- Gogo Dodo 06:55, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
