Your signature[edit]

Can you please type four tildes like this ~~~~ at the end of your posts on discussion pages, or else use the signature button which appears in the list of tools just above the edit box while you're typing your post (tenth button from the left)? They convert automatically into your username, with a link to your user page, plus the date and time of the post. Three tildes would just give your linked username, while five would just give the date and time. At the moment, it seems as if you're typing Bill Ward manually, with no link (and in any case, your user name is W.E.Ward.III, not Bill Ward), and then typing five tildes to give the date and time. Your posts on talk pages should all link to your user page, so that people can get easily to your talk page if they want to leave a message for you. Thanks. Hi ElinorD. That would be an incorrect thought; I'm typing four tildes and getting Bill Ward. Just like this Bill Ward 17:53, 21 July 2007 (UTC) However, I had RAW Signature checked; I'll uncheck that, and it should work. I was curious as to why it wasn't putting a hyperlink to my signature. Apostolic Succession edits[edit]

Hi Bill:

Thanks for your feedback on my apostolic succession contribs. I've been plugging away in a rather piecemeal fashion on it. I re-worded it in accordance with your suggestions and moved it higher in the article under the "Protestant Response" section. I've tried to synthesize trends I've observed in Protestant polemics as a result of Protestant/Eastern Orthodox dialog and competition that put the doctrine of apostolic succession in a different light than it's been cast in previous Roman Catholic-Protestant debates. Hopefully, I've got enough source citations and wikified words that the section doesn't seem like "Original Research." --ManicBrit (talk) 18:37, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Herman Hollerith[edit]

Please stop inserting that blurb about Hollerith's great-grandson in his article. The family section of a biography article is supposed to be about the subject of the article. In general it should stick to relatives he knew and interacted with, or ancestors who had some influence on his upbringing. It should not be a laundry list of people who happen to be able to place him on their genealogical charts. The article is about the life and works of Herman Hollerith, after all.

If Bishop Hollerith is notable, and I think the case can be made, please feel free to write an article about him. Odds are that, given they have the same first and last names, a Hollerith disambiguation page would follow that would lead to his article. Rklear (talk) 00:38, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
