Iraq war infobox

[edit]

Listen you are new to Wikipedia so I'll explain. There had already been a discussion on the infobox of the Iraq war more than two years ago and there were additional discussions after that. A consensus was made among the Wikipedia editors that the original infobox which contains the names of the battles and operations was just getting to big so it was decided that that infobox be keept in just one article, the one that lists all of the military operations of the war. And we decided to make one small infobox that provides a link to an article that lists the terrorist attacks and a link to that article which lists the military operations which would contain the battles infobox. So please don't reinsert the battles infobox. But I will say that you did a great job on the battles you added to the infobox. Keep up the good work.(Top Gun)

I also disagree with Top Gun. A consensus from 2 years ago which obviously isn't a consensus now should be reevaluated. Anyway, I think it's worth creating a campaign box for the "invasion phase" of the war and a separate box for the "insurgency phase". Also, the Iraq War structure needs to be broken up into something a little bit more than "this happened in 2003", "this happened in 2004". It tells the user nothing - there's no analysis - just a long list of battles and operations. However, I do agree with Top Gun that the work you have done is outstanding, so keep it up.Lawrencema (talk) 06:24, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
