Home in Sulfur Springs

[edit]

Hi. Thanks for your info on this album. Could you provide a documented source or link to support the mis-labeling of the album by Rounder? This has often confused me and you seem to have the answer, but Wiki requires source links, not telephone numbers, etc. Airproofing (talk) 17:20, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Thank you for your reply. I'm a bit of a noob here, and I'll apologize in advance while I learn to navigate the talk pages. One quick note, in case it has bearing, is the spelling for both albums has 'Sulfur' as 'Sulphur.' This relates to Sulphur Springs, GA & AL (the town is split with the state lines) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulphur_Springs,_Alabama I'm not sure if the following links will suffice for documented proof, but you'll be able to have visual evidence of the original 1972 Rounder album label, front and back cover showing the name as Home in Sulphur Springs. I'll follow with links that show our album, Back Home In Sulphur Springs. Please let me know if there is another place I should cite these links as well.

Western Jubilee Recording Company/Plectrafone Website - "Back Home In Sulphur Springs" Page [6]

Burnside Distribution Company Catalog - "Back Home in Sulphur Springs" [7]

These links/images show the original 1972 Rounder LP titled, "Home in Sulphur Springs." Before they mistakenly added "Back" to end up copying the title of the 2006 Plectrafone release, "Back Home in Sulphur Springs."

Thank you in advance for any help, advice, or tips you may have in getting this cleared up.

  • Thanks WJRC. I changed back your recent edit on "Back Home..." as the info box is to show the original label. All other reissues are supposed to be in the body text of the article. If there are a lot of them, it can even have its own header. Check out some of the Kingston Trio albums for examples. Also take a look at Wikialbums projects here: Template:Infobox album for some more info. I also did a redirect for the debut album. Airproofing (talk) 14:56, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you kindly, Airproofing, for your help in all this. I look forward to learning more and striving for accuracy. Take care, WJRC (talk) 18:21, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

One question, Western Jubilee Recording Company, LLC is the original label for Back Home in Sulphur Springs. Dualtone had a manufacturing and distribution license from Western Jubilee until June 30th, 2006. Dualtone only did a few months of manufacturing and distribution, but was not the record label. Does that change how this should be displayed? Thanks! WJRC (talk) 23:03, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
