Sinclair[edit]

This is weird. I think this book copied you. [1].... Can you help clear up some dates on User:Viriditas/Elizabeth McHutcheson Sinclair?--KAVEBEAR (talk) 19:13, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It has become more and more popular for people to just print out many Wikipedia articles and call it a "book". This is clearly one of those. Be sure of course never to use them as a source, since it might just be perpetuating misinformation. And sorry, I do not have time to work more on the Sinclair family right now. They are quite interesting, and certainly agree the matriarch deserves her own article. That article of course needs to have its raw urls changed into real citations. Especially if mixing web sources and books, I find the two-level organization more confusing than one level for references. If books are searchable, then you could just put the union of all page numbers in the citation, or else use the {{rp}} template to specify separate page numbers. Oh that's too bad. If you could spare a few minutes can you help me cite [2]. I'm not sure how to cite it.
Looks like a job for {{Cite news}} like othr newspaper sources. The good news is that these early newspapers are out of copyright so can be freely reproduced. The Library of Congress has many online and indexed nicely too (probably from the same source). See this link for example. I can do one example for you today. Request for feedback on User:Timeport101/Verax NMS[edit]

Hello W Nowicki, thanks for a great feedback you gave me on User:Timeport101/Verax NMS. I've implmented your suggestions and found additional references. I'd like to ask you about your opinion on this. I'm not sure if I cited refrences 100% correct (research papers and workshop materials).--Timeport101 (talk) 13:52, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Great thanks ! W Nowicki thank you for the great feedback (again). I've followed your guidelines. I provided better context, unified date format, improved punctuation, removed sentence about "current version" and added authors to NREN citation. It looks much better with these changes. Can I give it a try and ask for another review, what do you think ? Again thank you for such a great responses.--Timeport101 (talk) 10:12, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your pix on French WP[edit]

Hi W Nowicki! I haven't spoken to you in a long time. I hope you are well? I just dropped in on the Hilo article in the French Wikipédia, where two of the photos used are yours, and see that they are displaying sideways. I would rotate them but I don't know how (not like iPhoto). Just in case you care enough to do anything about it. Take care! Awien (talk) 21:29, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bonjour. I have been contracting or a while so not much time to Wikipediate. I rotated some (looks like they turned off some auto-rotate bits in the Commons rederer?). However the statue pic is being deleted, since evidently sculptures (even those paid for by taxpayers) are copyrighted. C'est la vie. W Nowicki (talk) 22:59, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Protestant missions to Pacific Islands[edit]

See suggestion at Template talk:Protestant missions to Pacific Islands. Any comments? Aymatth2 (talk) 02:10, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bill, I see that you were a contributor to this article that I moved back to its old name. I don't know anything about this, but found essentially zero sources for the new name, much less for a statement that it corresponded to the same thing as the old name. It seems odd that if Intel is selling this stuff that nobody would be talking about it. What do you think is going on? Suggestions for how to fix? Dicklyon (talk) 04:37, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
