Welcome!

Hello, Walterwhite567, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Your submission at Articles for creation: Draft:Gehad Hamdy

Include more biography and less resume listings. A list of positions held or awards won is not as convincing as text explaining what they accomplished in those positions or the reason their work was worthy of an award in a neutral tone. Alanwrick1 (talk) 10:01, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Abdelrahman ElGendy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. 2A01:4C8:49:B2A2:28AC:36FF:FE4F:2162 (talk) 13:51, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked as a sockpuppet

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively as a sockpuppet of User:Salem Imam per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Salem Imam. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

I have no idea why I’ve been blocked even though I followed all rules, or why I’m connected to this Salem Imam person. I have very clear reasons to have created both pages flagged as the reason of my block. I’m an Egyptian American that follows news of Egyptian activists closely. Gehad Hamdy, the first page mentioned, was named one of BBC’s 100 Most Influential Women in the World for 2022 last December. That’s how I came across her and then created the page. You can revise the dates to make sure. The second page, Abdelrahman ElGendy, was profiled in the New York Times online and in print this week, and on BBC News Africa Daily podcast the week before, which is when I first encountered him. After the NYT profile, I went ahead and created the page. I believe both actions had very clear motives propelled by actual notability signs I saw as I followed the topic of Egyptian activists. I ask that you kindly double check the veracity of what I just said and reconsider your decision. I’m happy to elaborate on any further needed information. Thank you. Request reason:

I apologize, but I had misunderstood that the block is because of being linked to an account called Salem Imam, not User0name22. I didn’t know that having 2 accounts was against the guidelines and I deeply apologize for that. If you’d reconsider the decision and lift the block, I promise I will only be using this account moving forward, and never moving any pages to main space before submitting for review by a vetted editor first. You could go back to my draft of Gehad Hamdy and check that I was already keen on maintaining neutrality and responded swiftly to all feedback by Star Mississipi and removed all promotional tone that another account added to the article. I will continue to uphold these regulations and be responsive to any feedback and guidance from experienced editors. Apologies again and; I hope you’d give me another chance and I appreciate your time and consideration.

Decline reason:

You may wish to review the standard offer. If you come back after 19 September 2023 without operating any further sockpuppet accounts, we may be willing to consider an unblock at that time. Seraphimblade Talk to me 01:44, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
