Scientific etymology[edit]

Please take the time to read New Latin and International scientific vocabulary. We do not need exhaustive etymological breakdowns of all the words a scientific term could have come from for the simple reason that the exact Latin or Ancient Greek words that they were derived from are often known and can be attested to the very date they were first used. When Linnaeus for example, used the Latin name Homo sapiens, he was deriving it from actual classical Latin, not from some long forgotten etymon from the dark corners of prehistoric protolanguages. While older cognates can sometimes be mentioned, you should only do so when it is actually relevant to the subject in question, e.g. if the author who coined the term or named the taxon also took note of the same detail. These articles are not linguistic.-- OBSIDIANSOUL 13:35, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ben Onwukwe[edit]

Hi WaltonArgus, thanks for contacting me on Ben Onwukwe.

I have moved your message from User talk:SchreyP/Toolbox to User talk:SchreyP#Ben Onwukwe, the normal page for user interactions. You can answer down here or at my user page, depending on what you prefer.

Based on first investigations:

  • I could not find any news or reference on his dead, so you are right nobody should declare him dead on Wikipedia. I will take some extra steps here.
I left a message on User talk:86.150.119.246 for this. SchreyP (messages) 23:56, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • This article need much more reliable references (see WP:V), to support other claims in his article, or this article could be marked for deletion. I'm not that well in the actor world to know the usual good sources for this. If you happen to be able to contact him, ask if he knows some good sources we can use here.

The rest of actions will be for the next days, as it is over 24:00 for me here. SchreyP (messages) 23:48, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
