Information icon Hello, Wearehorrorrecords. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 21:02, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Alexf(talk) 21:09, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I didn't realise this wasn't allowed, I can only apologise... my bad! To be fair, the article is written in a neutral and factual way, but I won't edit it again, I now realise that I was wrong, and can see how a "conflict of interest" could be perceived. Hopefully I can be allowed back to edit other articles. Wearehorrorrecords (talk) 21:34, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Leaving aside the apparent block evasion, you don't say what topics or articles you might edit. 331dot (talk) 09:37, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It’s fine honestly, I understand. Most edits I’ve ever made are usually based in professional wrestling, and certain tv shows. As for the “block evasions”, when the message first appeared I thought it may be in error, so tried a couple of times, perhaps trying out certain things in the “real world” wasn’t a good idea, so my bad. I've never been a big editor of Wikipedia so it was new for me. All points considered, I understand, and that’s all fine, it looks as though the label page has already been removed. One final question though, how does one actually get a page / article published without the red tape and possible take downs? I would like to have a presence here, not even for promotional reasons, more like legitimacy reasons. Happy to learn, and listen. Thanks for your time! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.86.129.67 (talk) 09:51, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The article was moved to draftspace. You can find it at Draft:We Are Horror Records. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 12:27, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Within minutes of this account being blocked 2A02:C7C:DE34:7200:4B46:4892:88F8:AC2A showed up and removed the COI tag from the We Are Horror Records article twice. They also claimed everything was "fact" but the article was promotional in nature and in text. All of your edits were to promote your own label so it isn't a perception of a conflict of interest. You absolutely have a conflict of interest and I hope the admin who responds helps you understand this before allowing you to continue in this fashion.
