As the Webmaster for the City of Waco, it is my job to police Wikipedia and report copyrighted images that were pirated by other users and misrepresented as either their own work or as public domain. WebmasterWacoTX (talk) 16:28, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

March 2024[edit]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because your username, WebmasterWacoTX, does not comply with Wikipedia's username policy. Your username is the principal reason for the block. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy, which is summarized here.
Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username of this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page (this page): {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If your username is not in violation of Wikipedia's username policy, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page here: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Thank you. Drmies (talk) 16:38, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

changed username WebmasterWacoTX (talk) 16:49, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

Decline reason:

It's unclear if you want "new" to be included as part of your username. It's also clear that the "txwm" part stands for "texas webmaster". Please pick a username that has nothing to do with your role. You'll also want to review WP:COI while blocked, as you will be required to disclose your conflict of interest if unblocked. what about this one? WebmasterWacoTX (talk) 19:55, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

Accept reason:

Renamed so unblocked. Please review WP:COI before editing further. Thanks! Yamla (talk) 20:05, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You should really put an actual name in there. Also, the copyright matter is really to be taken up on Wikipedia Commons, via https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_Waco,_Texas.svg and https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Seal_of_Waco,_Texas.png. It's best, maybe, to ask here, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Village_pump/Copyright , giving all the relevant links and information. Drmies (talk) 16:59, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see an actual name in your username or most usernames throughout wikipedia. and I will take each matter up with commons. Thanks. WebmasterWacoTX (talk) 17:10, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
