Hello, Whisoseryus, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as GOLDEN ENTERPRISES, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on GOLDEN ENTERPRISES requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Epicgenius (talk) 16:48, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

December 2013[edit]

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you. 220 of Borg 11:49, 25 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Mercer International Incorporation[edit]

Hello Whisoseryus,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Mercer International Incorporation for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:34, 25 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Student project[edit]

Hello, Whisoseryus and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students.

Go through our online training for students.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Helpme}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, if your class doesn't already have one. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! --Tryptofish (talk) 16:39, 25 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Follow-up[edit]

Hello again, and thank you for your message to me on my talk page. For personal privacy reasons, I do not make my e-mail address available on Wikipedia, but I would be very happy to continue to discuss these things with you and your professor.

Please tell me, either here or at my talk page, what is the name of your university, and what is the name of the course? Also, please ask your professor to create a user page, much like your own user page, here on Wikipedia, if he or she has not already done so. It is entirely up to the professor whether or not to use their own name for that, but they should communicate that they are the person in charge of the class.

I also recommend that all the students in your class place Template:Course assignment at the top of the talk page of every article that your class is working on.

For more information, for both the professor and for you and your fellow students, please read: WP:Student assignments. Thank you, and happy editing! --Tryptofish (talk) 14:58, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tryptofish, thank you for your kind advice! I have included the email from our course professor on my talk page on behalf of him (please see the above section), explaining the necessary information you mentioned previously. Please kindly refer to the email, and feel free to contact us for any further suggestions or guidance for us. Thank you! --Whisoseryus (talk) 04:05, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article PDC Energy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of significance or importance. Being a public traded company does not assert notability. Routine stock market reports, corporate listings, press releases, and primary sources. Fails WP:GNG, WP:ORG, and WP:ORGDEPTH. WP:NOTYELLOW.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Deletions[edit]

Hi. You will have noticed by now that all the articles created by you and your China university colleagues are in course of deletion. Just creating business entries from stock exchange lists is counter productive to the encyclopedia and it takes up a lot of volunteer time to review and delete these unwanted articles. That said, we are not wholly convinced that this is a genuine educational project, but you and your friends must start communicating with us if you wish to continue to contribute to Wikipedia and avoid being eventually blocked for causing us so much work. Such blocks would affect the entire IP addresses of the universities concerned - we want to avoid that. I'll just add that I am an admin and an online ambassador for education projects and I'm in a position to help. Regards, Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 06:10, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kudpung, thank you very much for your kind advice. Yes, we are indeed a group of students working on our assignment, and after receiving the messages from you and other admins, we have discussed with our professor to communicate with you. Following is an email from our professor explaining the details of the work, and I'm sending this to you on behalf of him.

"Dear Editor:

I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Rotman School of Management, the University of Toronto. I am collaborating with Prof. Sean Xu at Tsinghua University and some of our students are creating and editing Wikipedia pages for educational purposes in our group. Specifically, we found that some very important public companies listed on NYSE, AMEX and NASDAQ do not have adequate coverage in Wikipedia. We encouraged our students to identify such companies and contribute to Wikipedia by editing the pages related to these companies. In this way, they learn how to become responsible contributors to provide high-quality content to Wikipedia. I must say that their additions and revisions are completely in the same spirit of Wikipedia.

Recently, some students reported that their Wikipedia accounts were temporarily suspended because of the concern that their revisions might aim to promote the reputations of certain companies and seek for commercial interest. I am writing to clarify that their tasks are purely educational, i.e., to learn how to use this collaborative platform in a positive way. Their revisions of Wikipedia pages do not reflect any commercial interest from any corporations and are not financially sponsored by any organizations.

To mitigate your concerns, we have advised our students to follow Wikipedia’s instructions for students carefully (specifically, be very careful about the NPOV policy) and add a talk page to disclose this educational initiative. Further, a course page will be set up shortly to disclosure the accounts of students who are involved in this coursework. We sincerely wish that their Wikipedia accounts can be reactivated and their revisions will be treated equally as those from other good users of Wikipedia.

Thanks a lot for your support! Please do not hesitate to contact me via email or phone if you have any suggestions, comments or concerns.

Best regards,

Ling Cen

Assistant Professor of Finance

Rotman School of Management

The University of Toronto

Email: ling.cen@rotman.utoronto.ca

Phone: (1) 416 978 3119" (The end of the email)

We would very much like to further communicate with you and other admins about any guidance or correction we need, and we would appreciate it a lot if you could give us more suggestions to help us better contribute to Wikipedia. We sincerely hope that we can effectively contribute to the community while being good Wikipedians. Regards and a late Happy New Year to you, --Whisoseryus (talk) 03:54, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If the instructors aren’t aware of the WMF’s Education Program or the Educators portal here, I believe they’ll find plenty of relevant guidance and contacts there. You may also wish to post at WP:Education noticeboard for the attention of editors & admins who are particularly interested or experienced in working with instructors & classes.—Odysseus1479 05:07, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Professors Ling Cen and Sean Xu, thank you very much for this information, and welcome to Wikipedia! I am happy that you are pointing your students to WP:NPOV and that you are working on setting up a course page. Those are very good things to do, and what Odysseus1479 recommended is also very good. Please let me also suggest that both you and your students familiarize yourselves with an information page at WP:ASSIGN. Thank you again. --Tryptofish (talk) 14:25, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No evidence for notability, as it has developed no drugs of its own.

Hi DGG: Thanks for your kind advice. The company does have its own drugs developed and commercialized worldwide, and I've added and improved this information on the article page, as well as further explaining it in the talk page. I'll keep improving the article by contributing more information to WP. Thanks,Whisoseryus (talk) 12:44, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve TARO Pharmaceuticals[edit]

Hi, I'm Carriearchdale. Whisoseryus, thanks for creating TARO Pharmaceuticals!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. This article is well written and very informative. Perhaps you could choose some appropriate categories near the bottom of the article. Thanks!

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Carriearchdale (talk) 19:50, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Whisoseryus. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Rockwell Medical Inc., for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Ironholds (talk) 19:00, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
