You’re right. East sister island is a specifically an area of geography. The governing body is the East Sister Independent States. Please stop reverting edits that imply the land was not purposefully taken from the Canadian government. It was, with no contest. Please provide a clear definition on what constitutes a “country”, and I will do my best to either provide a citation of such requirements, or the page can be removed.

International recognition is irrelevant. Unless you want to also nominate Palestine, Kosovo, and the Holy See. If you applied this logic In 1776, the United States would also not be a real country.

The East Sister Independent States has a government, a permanent population, and exerts control over its borders by sea.

It would be rather difficult for you to even come land on it if you tried without approval.

If a population of peoples fleeing the inaction of a government that cares not about the security and safety of said people, with the ability to both form government and protect their claimed national boundaries does not qualify as a country because the United Nations (who we, at our core, have no interest in joining), does not wish to recognize, then no country has a legitimate claim to be as such.

Please do advise so I can provide proper sourcing. Whodoeswhatnow (talk) 22:01, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. Cabayi (talk) 08:55, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
