Josh Hyde (musician)[edit]

I saw your comment on the removal of the PROD from Josh Hyde (musician). Rather than post to the talk page I decided to move it to an AfD to get more eyes on the article. Don't panic, an AfD gives editors at least 7 days to review and improve the article content. @Bilby: Hello sir! I am contacting you about a certain block imposed on me. Why is it that because of mistakes I made in the past, I am banned from rectifying my behavior and taking necessary steps to improve my edits in the future? I don't understand if it's fair to prevent me from editing Wikipedia for the rest of my life. It really weighed heavily on me, and I never meant to "block evade" or cause any policy breaches. All I want to do is edit Wikipedia. I got off to a rough start, and I acknowledged my mistakes and apologized, but I believe nothing I did deserves a lifetime ban. It's like giving someone a life sentence in prison for robbing a shop. I am not contacting you to prove I am not in the wrong, I understand what I did was not right. But is there any way at all that I can have a new start. I enjoy working on Wikipedia and I really want to be more involved, and I don't want to be prevented from contributing for the next 60-70 years. I will take the steps necessary to reintegrate without causing problems. If you look at previous edits, I dealed with a AfD admirably, without causing any problems. Wikipedia policy says: "An indefinite block is a block that does not have a definite (or fixed) duration. Indefinite blocks are usually applied when there is significant disruption or threats of disruption, or major breaches of policy. In such cases an open-ended block may be appropriate to prevent further problems until the matter can be resolved by discussion. As with all blocks, it is not a punishment. It is designed to prevent further disruption, and the desired outcome is a commitment to observe Wikipedia's policies and to stop problematic conduct in future."

This is not intended as a permanent ban, although given that you created an alternative account to evade the block on the main account in order to engage in what is clearly paid editing, it will take a while until the community will be in a position to lift the existing block. You best approach is probably the standard offer, and any requests for unblocks will need to be main from your primary account, User:Jkmarold55. - Bilby (talk) 00:12, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
