Boat merger

Sounds good to me. Now that the merge proposal is in place, though, you might comment there, and maybe boldly make one or both redirects. John Carter (talk) 22:36, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Dravidian parties resources

Hi Wiki San Roze, Unfortunately, the article improvement groups are swamped with work; don't expect a quick or thorough response, though you can take steps to mitigate the likelihood of sub-par commentary.

  1. Peer review: Any number of editors will review your article, but the number can be as low as two or three and the feedback superficial. One editor opined to me that the sole reason he nominated a piece for Good Article recognition was to get feedback on an article; he did not really expect that the piece would pass muster. If you do seek a peer review, promote the request on the talk pages of WikiProject Dravidian civilizations, WikiProject Tamil civilization, and WikiProject India project talk pages. It is to these various projects advantage to help promote articles, if only to improve the appearance of their assessment charts. These three projects encompass some two hundred editors a five percent response rate would garner about ten editors for the peer review, a fairly decent number. Also, let past reviewers such as Noble Story and myself know, along with other significant contributors to the article. Try to conclude any significant content and structural changes before requesting a peer review; it's difficult to review an article in a state of flux.
  2. Wikipedia:WikiProject League of Copyeditors will check for grammar and form, so long as an article is complete and stable; they regard their contribution to be a polishing step that would be largely nullified if content were to be rearraged. This resource would probably best used after the results of a peer review has been incorporated into the article.

Hope this helps. Also, from time to time, I visit articles that I have reviewed to make contributions. Take care. Gosgood (talk) 19:44, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

In case there is some doubt, feel free to contact me anytime for a second opinion, on whatever you contribute to Wikipedia, not just this article. Just leave a note on my talk page. Take care. Gosgood (talk) 20:38, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Indian coracles

(copying my comment from my talk page) Actually, I found the article off the DYK page, where it had already been nominated with the hook "...that Indian coracles, which take only about a day to build, are one of the major tourist attractions on the Kaveri River?" If it weren't for the fact that someone nominated it, I wouldn't have stumbled across it. And thank you to you for not minding all my comments and tweaks. Loggie (talk) 21:28, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Re:Chennai

See Wikipedia_talk:Noticeboard_for_India-related_topics/Archive_30#Chennai_workgroup. I agree...it has not been advertised much. There is a lot of work to do. Please consider this an invite. Thanks, Ganeshk (talk) 20:26, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Feel free to make the welcome banner. I have been taking cues from WikiProject Adelaide. They got the process going for improving suburbs, neighbourhoods etc. We can use them as an example. Thanks, Ganeshk (talk) 21:14, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Welcome template looks good! Can you change it to accept a text parameter, so that you can sign the template inside the box. See Template:award for an example. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 22:03, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
I fixed the template on your sandbox...and got that piece working. I have updated the template too. Usage:{{subst:Chennai-Invite|Cheers, ~~~~}} Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 01:37, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
I have used your template here. Thanks for creating it. Ganeshk (talk) 02:03, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Syntax, For use on another user's talk page, {{subst:Chennai-Invite|<closing>, ~~~~}}. Need to add a template documentation section to the template. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 12:01, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Re:Probable bot

I will surely work on this soon and see what I can do. Most probably after the current tagging effort for India and workgroups is over -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 08:08, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

RE: Thanks

Hi. Thanks for your comment about that assessment. But your example uses a useful picture or graphic that is one of requirements of Start and B class. (it's one of my reasons) and I think that example should be in Stub class (you know, we are humans not bots and each of us has a point of view) and this article has not enough subheadings. But I will report this article to someone else in assessing department of wikiproject biography to reassess it. And thanks again for your notification. :) Solar-Poseidon 22:50, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Chennai Police logo.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Chennai Police logo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:50, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Iyengar citation

Hmmm... I'll look into it. By the way, how are you doing?? :-) -RavichandarMy coffee shop 14:02, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Hmmm... Well... not so... As you might observe from my edit count, I, too, haven't been contributing much over the past few months. There are some issues that need to be urgently sorted out. Well, I think I'll get over those issues soon.
Well, the condition of TN-related articles is, indeed, pathetic. The coverage is not upto the mark. And we have very few featured articles. Just have a look at Wikiproject Karnataka. I feel that those people take a lot of interest towards articles in their scope than us. Wikiproject India portal is always filled with Karnataka related DYKs. I feel we, Tamils, too must take some interest. And we need to get more people working at TN-related articles. Well, I've prepared a list of articles which need to be improved. Will be putting them up in Wikiproject Tamil civilization page in a short while :-) -RavichandarMy coffee shop 15:06, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Well, I didn't mean you. I observe that there are around 20 or 30 people in the list of participants in Wikiproject Tamil Nadu. And most of them have made < 50 edits, most of which are about their township, or school or college. Well, I really appreciate the wonderful work done by people like User:Dineshkannambadi, etc. in writing Karnataka-related FAs and DYKs. Sadly, it appears to me as if we don't have enough people like that -RavichandarMy coffee shop 10:36, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
