Box on articles

It's really not appropriate to put a "gay pride" box on the articlespace related to homosexuality, as it implies that Wikipedia is taking sides in any debate that exists. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to mark their talk pages, if you'd like to start a WikiProject LGBT, to improve and expand articles on LGBT issues? FCYTravis 20:28, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

FX logo

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Why do you think the FX logo below:

should be replaced by this one?

I looked on the FX website, and it turns out that neither are correct http://www.fxnetworks.com/ The logo is white.

It's not consistently white. For example, at [1], the "searchlight" part is the same gold color as in the top logo above. And undoubtedly the letters "FX" are white there because it's on a black background. So it seems that the color of the logo is not considered "essential". The top logo above is a faithful representation of the shapes, and it incorporates colors that are seen on the FX site. Most likely it was obtained from an official Web page somewhere. The bottom logo is poorly drawn and has bizarre colors that don't match anything I see on the site. Therefore I contend that the top logo above is much superior to the bottom logo. —Bkell 20:57, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

Hello again. Please stop changing the "image will be deleted" tags on Image:FX Logo.jpg and Image:FX Logo.JPG. If you feel there is a good reason to keep these images, you can present your views on the images' talk pages. However, since these are representations of a copyrighted logo, Wikipedia can only use them under the fair use clause of U.S. copyright law. Part of the requirements for claiming fair use on Wikipedia is that the image must be in use in an article. Since these images are not used in any articles, Wikipedia has no legal basis for claiming fair use, and risks violating U.S. copyright law. Vandalism in the sandbox

Edits in the sandbox can be vandalism. It can be placing curse language, suck as "fuck fuck fuck", or removing the sandbox heading or editing above it. Good manners in the sandbox means good language, editing only below the heading. Georgia guy 14:13, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

The images that you recently uploaded

Thank you for uploading Image:Steve McNair.jpg and Image:Tackle.jpg. The problem is that you tagged both images as {{GFDL}}, which indicates that you claim that the copyright owners of both of these images released them under the The GNU Free Documentation License. However, the web sites that you cite, www.stlouisrams.com and www.nfl.com, specifically say in their disclaimers that their content is copyrighted. • It looks like Image:Phoenix-alternate.gif is the team's alternate logo. On all of the NHL team articles, there is both the primary and the alternate logos of the teams. Dude, I wrote (and still write) the TPIR FAQ at Golden-Road.net. I know damn well what a small prize is. The games use small prizes; they are not "played for" them, because they are not won if the game is. No one who actually bothers to read the rule descriptions should suffer any degree of confusion from the terminology, "uses small prizes."

your "Gay Pride" series on Wikipedia

Hello. You put your (very nice) "Gay Pride Series" box on the "discussion" page of an article we were editing. Thinking that it was a good idea we added it to the "discussion" page of some related ones too.

However, since your box specifically says "Gay" (as opposed to LGBT) "Pride Series" and the articles in question were specifically related to the Bisexual Community, the question has come up, do you only want things related to Gay Men in your series?

Also there is a question if you are actually still working on this series or have abandoned it.

Proposed deletion of Non-fictional character

The article Non-fictional character has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No such concept in use in standard sources (a character is by definition fictional, even when based on a real person); article has no citations to support its claims; has been tagged for more than a year; unsourced since 2006

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
