Almost got rouge before BigBrother stopped Addict 2006

[edit]
Please stop. If you continue to delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, you will be blocked for vandalism. --Addict 2006 13:19, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Editing others' comments (except on your own user talk page) is generally not allowed. Written on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Talk_page_guidelines#Behavior_that_is_unacceptable

Well, User:BigBrotherIsWatchingYou warned me so I thanked him for doing so. I told him that I often get frustrated here but to tell you the truth: I thought you weren't supposed to remove warnings from your talk page... I guess that only goes for vandals and you aren't one. I oughta give you a warm welcome here. --Addict 2006 20:12, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

[edit]
Hi, Wikihobby, and Welcome to Wikipedia!

Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy the encyclopedia and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read the simplified ruleset. If you need help, feel free to use any of Wikipedia's hundreds of resources. I personally recommend the Wikipedia:Boot Camp, where in addition to standard posts, you can use an IRC to chat online with fellow Wikipedians willing to help! In addition, Wikipedia also has pages dedicated to the use of Wikipedia, for example, if you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting pages visit the manual of style. Feel free to post questions on my talk page - I'm happy to help you with anything you need.

Notability of Louis Cahen d'Anvers

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Louis Cahen d'Anvers, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Jakew 14:50, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry that you're irritated that your work was deleted. In my judgement, it met the criteria for speedy deletion clause A7. If you disagree, I suggest that you open a deletion review. Jakew 10:28, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What's new?

[edit]
  • The project has recently experienced a complete redesign. The Outreach department has also undergone a major expansion, and this newsletter is the result of that.
  • The review department is currently under development, with several new proposals underway. Internal peer review had begun on the page of the project's Review Department. The department currently provides a centralized platform off all currently open reviews throughout the project (Featured Articles, Peer Reviews, Good Articles, Articles for Deletion, Categories for Discussion, etc.)
  • A new task force has been introduced: the Paris task force. Any users interested in contributing to the taskforce can join on the project page.
  • There is a current discussion about merging the French Communes WikiProject into ours. This communes project will be organised as a task force.

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:08, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
