Deletion of FTG

A tag has been placed on Flying Tigers Group, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Leuko 17:25, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Responding to your user page

Try looking at the Community Portal (link on the left sidebar) for ideas about what to do. You can also leave me a message. YechielMan 21:06, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

hi. there is often more than you may think. what are your interests? If you are interested in history, there are many minor figures who are barely covered. And there are always fresh new angles on various events and historical issues to bring out.
If your interest is arts or music, you can try gathering new data on your favorite artists, and working it into exisitng articles. Be sure to provide footnotes, using <ref> tags. If you have questions, feel free to write to me at my user page. I'm User:Sm8900. (I didn't happen to log in with my ID, because I'm not at my own computer.) thanks. See you. --69.141.229.105 02:11, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Adoption?

You added yourself to the folks needing adoption list. I pulled you up because of your username...would you be interested in helping edit aviation articles as a way of learning the ropes? I'd be willing to adopt you...but I work mostly in aviation articles, so if your interests lean that way, Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation can always use a good hand, and I'd be happy to use some of what needs to be done to teach you the ins and outs of how things are done around here. About me: I'm an editor with 13,000+ edits and an admin as well, and am passionate about this place working to become a qualtiy encyclopedia. If that's what you want to see it become too, let me know. AKRadeckiSpeaketh 00:13, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

I have offered you adoption as well after seeing your name on the list of people requesting adoption. I am an experienced editor that works on a variety of articles from video games to transit articles but video games are my main focus. I am not an admin like Akradecki and I don't have as many edits as him but I do enjoy Wikipedia and like Akradecki I wish for Wikipedia to be a quality encyclopedia. If you would like Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games always looking for people and they would be welcome to have you. If you wish to accept my offer leave me a message and we can get started. CDNIS

I would like to know why CDNIS (Canadian International School of Hong Kong) was removed from wikipedia... While other international schools such as CIS (Chinese Intl. School) HKIS (Hong Kong Intl. Speedy tags

Please be a little more careful with the speedy tags. If an article *asserts* notability (such as Dagmar Holst, an international medal winner), it's not eligible for speedy deletion. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 13:55, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

  • Point taken, thanks, I thought those medals are intra-national. My bad.

Princehailla

Hi,

Just so you know, your tagging here was a bit excessive. Normally, articles only need one speedy tag, citing the most compelling reason. Also, be careful in calling something a CSD G10 attack page -- that is fairly serious charge, and -- in this case -- the article was not an attack page at all, just a young person trying badly to write about himself. I did delete it under CSD A7, of course. Best wishes, Xoloz (talk) 16:03, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

  • I believe the young man was explaining on what city block in his district he lived -- it is a way of providing an address. Best wishes, Xoloz (talk) 16:10, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Bad manners combined with a lack of knowledge

Not a good idea to post this kind of thing and a “Wikify” notice to Seagram Cup Stakes when you have no clue whatsoever on the subject. And, it is grossly bad manners to ignore a Project page. If you have questions, post them to Wikipedia:WikiProject Thoroughbred racing (or other such Project Talk pages). In future, do not go around slapping notices on subjects you know zero about. All it does, is waste the valuable time of contributors who actually make substantive and real contributions to Wikipedia. Thank you for your cooperation. Just trying my best.Point is, Ignorantia juris non excusat [1] --KelvinHOwiki flight simmer(talk) 14:55, 25 December 2007 (UTC) Well, that would be Bad manners with a lack of knowledge for you, too. In case... I'm a newbie, with less than 500 edits, and it's my first time on the Patrol And I believe that you should read Wikipedia:BITE before posting that on somebody's talk page. (that passage was far too accusing than I think you meant it to be.) --KelvinHOWiknerd(talk) 15:27, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

Concerning the article Canadian International School of Hong Kong, you should contact User:Y, the admin who deleted it. Per his deletion summary, it was because of WP:CSD#G11. - Mtmelendez (Talk) 21:13, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

Recently, you added a Wikify tag to the article Command & Conquer. I'm a bit confused as to what in particular needs to be wikified. Going through the article, it seems to me that there are more than enough blue links to other topics on Wikipedia. If you could please clarify what in the article needed to be wikified, I'd be obliged. Thunderforge (talk) 23:16, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Reconnaissance by fire

According to the source material, the term is all lowercase, "reconnaissance by fire." I reverted the redirect back to the original title. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 01:33, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: FirstClass

Hello. I sent an email from my FirstClass to my Hotmail. I sent an email from my Hotmail to my FirstClass using the FirstClass email address that appears in my Hotmail. I have not received anything in my FirstClass so far. What should I do? --Mayfare (talk) 00:13, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

One minute later, I received an NDN: <Message Title> email in my Hotmail. --Mayfare (talk) 06:22, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

No, I cannot reply to the NDN email. --Mayfare (talk) 20:59, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Do not worry about it. Thanks anyway. --Mayfare (talk) 15:40, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Apple Products Timeline

I found your comment after I made a start by combing all the computer products:

Template:Complete timeline of Apple Products

The timeline is more than detailed enough to accommodate all the Apple Products. Peripherals will need to expand the chart somewhat, though I would prefer to see them somewhere in the middle if possible. I had intended simply to add iPods, Newtons and other CPU based products, but adding everything should not be a problem. I'm planning to remove the ROM distinctions as they don't need to be there in a comprehensive product timeline.

Eventually though, such an all-encompassing chart is going to be impossible to accommodate all the detail as the years go by and the total width is forced to shrink.

Definitely a reduction chart needs to be created that simplifies the myriad of models into simple product lines like Mac II, LC, Compact, etc.

Probably a peripheral chart needs to be extracted as well that includes just monitors, printers, drives, modems, scanners, accessories and the like.

At present, only the Newton family of CPU products does not have a timeline.--Mac128 (talk) 21:41, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
