MobyGames[edit]

I think the bit you overlooked is: "How to avoid COI edits... avoid... 3. Linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);"--BozMo talk 11:55, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As I understand it, the Spam argument applies if we were linking to something different. e.g. McDonalds in an article about watches... or even an article about french cuisine. The Mobygames pages cited are all "related" material to the game pages being discussed. --WildKard 22:07, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Upon reading some of the other threads on this subject, and the controversy it's causing; I would be in favor of deleting the template itself (in the case that no other online communities or websites have templates such as this. On the other hand, if we're merely following an established trend, e.g. sites like IMDB, then I see the template more as active participation.) as well as any Mobygames links that are proven to be be placed there COI (including my own). This is my own opinion and does not necessarily reflect the views of any other member of MobyGames. --WildKard 22:52, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Another edit to myself... I see there's a whole slew of databases over at [Templates: Film & Television] (this was linked from the Wikipedia:Template_Messages pseudo-help pages) , based on that, I would say there's no reason not to keep the Mobygames template --WildKard 23:06, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Federation of Humanity[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Federation of Humanity, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. 172.132.201.110 15:51, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. I started the article on July 4th and meant to populate it, but obviously have not gotten around to it yet. I'll remake the article when I'm ready to provide information. I really should have marked it as a stub also. --WildKard 19:12, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
