Review[edit]

Hi Will282848 and TylerStrachan. This is a review for the Springs, Swamps, and Sinkholes class. I'm evaluating changes to the Alazan Bay article, contrasting the current article with the proposed revision.

Referencing
  • There are several sentences that do not have inline references. The second half of the second paragraph is completely unreferenced, as are the last five sentences of the first paragraph. Ideally, we should be able to verify each statement in the article by clicking on the inline reference at the end of the sentence or paragraph.
  • The article states that "The Spanish word alazan refers to the sorrel color of horses, livestock, as well as the soil often seen surrounding Alazan Bay", but the TSHA reference only says that Alazan "may have referred to" those things.
Links
  • The link to Laguna Salada Bay is wrong. It leads to Laguna Salada (Mexico), a Mexican lake of the same name.
  • The links to redfish and speckled trout go to disambiguation pages as both are common names for a number of different species. If possible, please link to the specific species.
  • Padre Island National Seashore could be linked. There is also a Wikipedia article for King Ranch, which is mentioned in the TSHA reference.
  • Petronila Creek and Baffin Bay need only be linked the first time they are mentioned.
Image
  • The File:Arial View of Alazan Bay .png image seems to be taken from Google Maps. As such, it is under copyright and cannot be released under a free license like CC-BY-SA 4.0. A map source like OpenStreetMap is compatible with Wikipedia's licensing requirements.
Grammar, spelling and flow
  • The second sentence of the first paragraph seems convoluted. Is there a way to say the same thing without repeating Baffin Bay and Alazan Bay twice?
  • I'd break up the first paragraph into two, with maybe a separate paragraph for the naming.
  • Extraordinary is spelled wrong.

Overall, good job. Thank you for helping to improve Wikipedia! gobonobo + c 05:16, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
