Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Fahrenheitthaiband.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Fahrenheitthaiband.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:37, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Burmese cinema "icon"

Long time no see. Kyaw has taken image of the Burmese film museum in Yangon. I have added Image:MyanmarMotionPictureMuseum1.JPG to the burma film template -looks good. also the award can be cropped and used on the main myanmar film awards article. Looks cool? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 22:58, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Yes thats right -thats what I meant -I believe the statue is actually the Myanmar "Oscar" itself -this would come in useful I think if cropped. I haven't edited films really since before christmas except one or two of the lists-I've been very busy putting districts and things like that in Cambodia and Burma on wikipedia. Even many of the cities and towns and whole provinces are still one liners -urgent need of attention. -and ironically the list of museums in the United States -of all the frickin 250 milion Americans its left to moi! to cleap up the mess! LOL! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 11:08, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

American films

Terrible idea. See this ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 13:49, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

You've been very quiet of late. Are you OK? I've started Cinema of Kenya -you might be interested in having a read. Its a start anyway ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 14:31, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Why are you ignoring me? Have I done something wrong? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 12:21, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Thats ok. Thanks for starting Opera Jawa, Garin Nugruho I started him and a number of his films a while back but unfortunately of late I've also been rather busy to work much on Indonesian or Philippines cinema as I said. I'll get to it sometime. I like that blog of yours by the way. With that and maintaining the SE Asian noticeboard, I can see how you must be rather tied. I've recently set up around 50 wikiprojects for africa and even though many are work grous with few members they are called e.g Wikipedia:WikiProject Uganda rather than WPAfrica/Uganda task force after a consensus. South America has also been done the same way. I would like to see Thailand wiki rpoject with a similar format e.g Wikipedia:WikiProject Thailand and categories but still a part of the SE Asia group ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 12:31, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:BestofDougSahm.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:BestofDougSahm.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 01:32, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Nangnakcover.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Nangnakcover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 21:15, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Could you weigh in on this AfD?

Hi there. I was looking at an AfD for a Thai child actress that lists no english languarge sources, but makes all sorts of claims. It doesn't exactly feel like a hoax to me, but it there are almost no English language hits for her. The problem is exacerbated by the usual variant spellings of words translated to English. I tried to list the debate with WP:Thailand, but there doesn't seem to be an area to do that. You were listed as a contributor, and since your user pages states that you live in Bangkok and have an interest in the popular media I was hoping that you might be able to take a look. The discussion is Articles_for_deletion/Mymelody-Molly_Jones and the article is Mymelody-Molly_Jones. Thanks, Xymmax (talk) 20:35, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Image:Monraktransistor.jpg

I have tagged Image:Monraktransistor.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Missing you

Man we're missing you at WP:Films you've only made a few edits in the last few months. You;ve suddenly become extremely busy all of a sudden. I hope you can still continue to edit here and haven't lost interest ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 22:39, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I've just revamped Wikipedia:WikiProject Thailand to allow for a WikiProject template (and made a bot request to have it slapped onto the talk pages of all Thailand-related articles so we can start figuring out how many Thailand-related articles there are and which need improving, and not rely on just using the WPSEASIA template. However, I'm trying to figure out how to get the stats in the rainbow-colored assessment box updated. Anyway, anything you could do to help fix up the project and get things rolling would be great. Badagnani (talk) 08:42, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Thailand has gained independence. We need you more than ever before!!!! Please come back we miss you!!!! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 10:15, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Why don't you respond to anybody anymore? I very much liked having you around on the wiki. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 20:03, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Midnightmylove01.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Midnightmylove01.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rettetast (talk) 21:58, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
