Uplace

[edit]

Hi WjI-kop, further to my comment on the AFD discussion regarding Uplace, if you are attempting to write about the controversy over planning approval then that needs to be the focus. If you can point me in the direction of some sources I am happy to do some reading and see if I can help you. Flat Out let's discuss it 07:31, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm positively surprised by this reaction, thank you! All help is very welcome! All right: I've edited the article and made a paragraph about the controversy. Most sources are Dutch/Flemish (I quite able to read that), as it is a Flemish case. I live nearby, and I'm not sure either. Some sources:
  • DeRedactie, Flemish state television also has a good media network. Google Translate is pretty good in Dutch... (at least compared to French)
  • Uplace website also has English pages. I didn't have any time for this yet, maybe you want to do this? (just a suggestion)

Though you might even help me more with revising my very poor English... (Suggestion: I can do the sources and you my English) --WjI-kop (talk) 07:49, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have looked at the Uplace website and I can understand your rationale for wanting to to write an article. The project has been presented for public review 7 times and has generated a large amount of media interest(more than 500 media articles). I need to understand why the permits have been denied and I will continue to research. Flat Out let's discuss it 08:57, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I will continue researching either. --WjI-kop (talk) 09:32, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome but remember, the article must be NOTABLE not just newsworthy. Flat Out let's discuss it 09:35, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've seen many of these types of articles up at AfC and I strongly recommend requesting WP:USERFICATION or what would be even better would be to have the article bumped to WP:AFC (I've made this note on the AfD itself, but wanted to reinforce it here). I think this may be a decent article in the future, but it seems too soon at the moment (especially since there seems to be no resolution to the controversy). If you request that on the AfD, I'd be happy to do the necessary moving of pages and close the AfD. Make your formal request there. Technical 13 (talk) 11:32, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think Technical 13's suggestion is a good one. I made a copy of the article as a subpage of my userpage so I could look at it later if it was deleted. Moving it to WP:AFC seems a better option. Best wishes, Flat Out let's discuss it 11:53, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, thanks! I will request it as soon as possible. Oh yes, I'll be away next week, so could you look at it then? --WjI-kop (talk) 12:10, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I will have a look at it but I can't promise anything.Flat Out let's discuss it 12:25, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have requested userfication at the AfD. AFC didn't attract me enough... --WjI-kop (talk) 12:29, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
