Reply: Do you play JapanMS?[edit]

Yes I play JapanMS and GlobalMS. -- Takiten 07:07, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, I only know how to extract the music from the data.wz. -- Takiten 04:01, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Download Nova Extractor. Google it, very first link. -- Takiten 04:17, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Movie Clips in MapleStory.[edit]

Download Fraps (google it, first link) and run it while in maplestory. Then hit F9 inside maple to start recording. After you are done recording, hit F9 again. Now you need to open Windows Movie Maker (It came with my computer) and convert/compress your maple movie, so that It can be uploaded to YouTube. I saved my videos as 150Kbps which is really bad quality, but I only did that because the videos I did were not very important, just tour videos. I think youtube allows up to 100MB videos, and up to 10 minute long videos. Depending on how long your video is, you should be able to decide what kind of compression you want to use. At 150Kbps, a 6 minute video is only about 6MBs for example. After you make your maple video with fraps, the file will be very huge... 5~ minutes is like 500MBs, so you'll need plenty of Hard Drive space. Then open Windows Movie Maker, Import Video, Select all clips in the center, drag and drop them in the slideshow at the bottom of the screen, then File>Save Movie File, go through the steps, pick the quality, save, then upload to youtube. Now editing the video will special effects and Stuff, I don't know how to do that. You can mess around with it in Windows Movie Maker, but I never bothered with it. -- Takiten 17:41, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't know if I can tell you here, email me about nova extractor. -- Takiten 05:21, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Did you ever get fraps to work for maplestory? I was wondering if you could make some 무릉 and 백초마을 videos and put them on youtube. -- Takiten 00:06, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't you get my email from like a month ago? It says how to make longer movies. -- Takiten 05:06, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I never told you about that. Here, I'll email you now. -- Takiten 05:11, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually that happens to me sometimes too. I'm not too sure how to fix it. Try loading fraps before you load maplestory, Or try loading fraps after loading maplestory. -- Takiten 01:10, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fish catching[edit]

Oops, didn't realize I changed that. Fixed it now. -- Prod-You 01:32, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MapleStory Translations[edit]

Sure if you want. But try to keep the names exactly as they appear in the mini-map in-game. I want everything to be straight from the client. The ones I marked "N/A" are because that name isn't used in the mini-map in that version, as far as I know. Like the Free Market in KMS, I think says Hidden Street for the road name, instead of Free Market, like it does in CMS. GMS also uses Hidden Street instead. Also, things like Amoria isn't in KMS, even though I'm pretty sure 아모리아 means Amoria, I don't want it listed since KMS doesn't have it. And I know 일본 means Japan and not Zipangu, but I listed it that way because that's what the road name is in KMS. I'm just showing what every version uses in place of what the English versions uses. Anyway, sure go ahead and add stuff If you like. -- Takiten 17:20, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure go ahead. Thanks for all the help! Now I need to find someone to help with the China and Taiwan names. lol -- Takiten 06:25, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The ones that are for sure not used, just leave as N/A. -- Takiten 06:37, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I added a new section to my translations page, maybe you can do the Korean column? -- Takiten 03:06, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, those weird ChinaMS translations are correct from what I can tell. Dong Fang Shen Zhou translates to China Main Land or Oriental Divine. And all the other weird translations are pretty much correct. Formosa is the only one that doesn't seem to translate to English. -- Takiten 13:44, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added a few more map names to my translations page. Can you translate some of them? I also found out Amoria is named "Wedding Town" in JMS. -- Takiten 01:29, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What does this road name say? here. -- Takiten 00:25, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Showa Town in KMS.[edit]

Well, the Showa Town music was added in KMST 1.2.76 or 1.2.77, so it's possible that Showa Town is coming out soon, but I don't know about next patch or not, since it's been a few patches since they put the music in, and it hasn't been released yet. -- Takiten 14:04, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Revert tools[edit]

You have to edit your monobook and put a revert script or tool in it. Read up about it here. Some nice scripts are popups, and TWINKLE, or you could make your own. There are plenty of other ones out there too, just have to find them. -- Takiten 04:31, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure go ahead. -- Takiten 04:24, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

World Tour in ChinaMS.[edit]

Nope I don't know how to extract it. And a ChinaMS fansite shows a picture [1] of Spinel the World Tour Guide to access Floating Market, so that should mean they are getting the world tour npc instead. It's possible they are getting Captian Nareth too, but he will probably be disabled, like Yang the pilot is disabled in JapanMS. -- Takiten 02:54, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Probably. In JapanMS, You can use Spinel to get to Zipangu, or you can use Perry. -- Takiten 03:35, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No idea. My guess it's from ChinaMS. -- Takiten 04:42, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know if Yuyuan Garden really has a Free Market Entrance? Cause according to this picture [2], there is no Free Market Entrance. -- Takiten 14:49, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are right, I found a picture of the Free Market in Yuyuan, but the 3 gates are not there in the minimap. So I guess there is something weird going on here. Like the 3 gates are are suppose to be on a different map. I added the picture on strategywiki under China if you want to check it out. -- Takiten 02:29, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

JMS Zipangu.[edit]

Mushroom Shrine was the first map to come out. They didn't even have the Cemetary or Blue Mushmom back then. Showa Town came later after Mushroom Shrine got the Cemetary. Then after Showa Town, Blue Mushmom was released later. Then the latest maps in JMS are the 3 Chungoo area maps. -- Takiten 16:14, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not Sure... I don't remember if the hideout came out along with Showa or not. -- Takiten 21:11, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Does this portal exist in KMS?[edit]

[3] This portal was added in MapleSEA v0.39, but it disconnects you when you try to go in. Then they took the portal out in patch v0.40. I was wondering if maybe you guys have it, and where does it go? -- Takiten 02:03, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Does KMS have these monsters?[edit]

[4] and [5] ? They look like Mu Lung monsters, but I'm not too sure. -- Takiten 02:09, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I guess they might be new Amoria Dungeon monsters that have not been released yet. -- Takiten 04:31, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I thought the same thing at first, they do look like they're in a similar style as the newer Mu Lung monsters. But in fact they're not, as far as i know, i any other version of the game, not to mention (as you said) their levels are very low compared to the existing monsters on that subcontinent. My current theory on the matter is the same as his, they must be for some further expansion of Amoria Dungeon. It still puzzles me though as they are lower level than the Sakura Cellions in the first map. It's not unheard of, Aqua Road monsters get weaker the further away from town you head, but it's mildly disappointing. The other possibility is that they're some accidental preliminary release from the Global contribution to the world tour. Another theory i've heard is that they're related tot he new KMS area, the desert one, but that's only because they have "sand" in the name. I find them interesting, wish there was more info on it. IsaacGS 14:55, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I heard that Coke Town is no longer in KMS?[edit]

Someone translated the latest KMS patch notes and said that Coke Town was taken out of the game. Do you know anything about this, or is it false? -- Takiten 18:59, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Coke Town is still in KMS. It's in Tespia so I am guessing its still in the real server as well. You talk to the Yeti NPC who's whering a coke outfit and you have to answer a couple questions and then you get taken to Coke Town —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.70.37.156 (talk) 18:47, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thailand patch v0.30[edit]

Yes ThailandMS is getting Legendary Spirit, Orbis PQ, Sharenian, and Maple Home Delivery in patch v0.30 April 18th. -- Takiten 02:19, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mu Lung and Herb Town[edit]

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Plus JMS got the music for those areas in this last patch. -- Takiten 03:00, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, go ahead and add it.[edit]

I wonder if CMS is getting monster rider too, or anything like maple home delivery. -- Takiten 14:01, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ludibrium Maze PQ[edit]

Does KMS have this now? Someone marked it "Yes" on the versions template -- Takiten 06:05, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TaiwanMS World Tour.[edit]

[6] from a TaiwanMS fan site. They probably still have all the other NPCs, like the other versions keep the old NPCs too. JapanMS still has Perry, ChinaMS still has Yang. So TaiwanMS might probably keep all the NPCs. But I don't know for sure. -- Takiten 04:19, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also on the official website, it says "NPC史匹奈爾" in the patch notes, which is the world tour guide npc. -- Takiten 04:29, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Patch notes.[edit]

I only know a tiny bit of Japanese, so I couldn't do it. But the KMS notes you could do. -- Takiten 04:38, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, I'm from the U.S.A. I am just learning a little bit of Japanese. Just enough to understand a few words in JMS. -- Takiten 15:03, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

아리안트[edit]

KMST got that new town. Is 아리안트 the name of it? What does that translate to in English? -- Takiten 04:30, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Xi Men Ding and Korean Folk Town[edit]

ossyria.222000000.streetName Korean Folk Town

ossyria.222000000.mapName Korean Folk Town

That is from GlobalMS and MapleSEA string.wz file. It's called Korean Folk Town for sure. And did you look in the string.wz for the Taiwan names? There are no Taiwan maps in the string.wz file. So we can't be sure what you found is what they will use. -- Takiten 01:16, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

EuropeMS v0.23[edit]

Nah, they didn't get that stuff. It's just in the data I believe. -- Takiten 04:54, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have to have a account to view Insoya now? Ever since Ariant was released, Insoya won't let me view their updates and stuff anymore. -- Takiten 00:36, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: About MapleStory[edit]

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay[edit]

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
