[edit]

I am aged over 60, dont understand computers that much but want to post a couple of photo's on my fathers Wiki page (Les Cocker)

TOTALLY confused and wish I hadnt received the email to his link

Do you need some help? GiantSnowman 20:39, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

maybe should have replied to you via this page?

Hi there - if you want to reply here feel free. I started the article on your father a few years ago, came across him while researching a different player called Les Cocker and found his story incredibly interesting, I even managed to have it featured on the front page on 30 October 2009 ("Did you know ... that Les Cocker, a coach with the victorious England team at the 1966 World Cup, received a winner's medal in June 2009, nearly 30 years after his death, following a campaign launched by his family?") More than happy to help you with photos, they're not my forte to be honest but I'll give it a go. Have a read of Wikipedia:Uploading images, especially the bit about copyright. I'll also post at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football to get other football editors involved. Regards, GiantSnowman 21:43, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ah managed to work out how to reply! please bear in mind I am aged over 60 and find this difficult, my email is squaregroove@ntlworld.com would love to get some photo's on the page, many thanks for all your help, it is appreciated in his memory and amazingly accurate, when you consider that England won the World Cup in 1966 with a squad of 22 and just a manager and 2 coaches who were away from home for 7 weeks and they all got paid just £87 each the mind boggles with attitude and pay nowadays, it was all about the honour back then

No problems, and yes, it was definitely a different era - though long before my time. You can e-mail me if you want (if you go to User:GiantSnowman and click on 'E-mail this user' on the left hand side) or we can communicate via this page. Do you know the copyright of the images you have in mind? GiantSnowman 22:05, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The images I have in mind were taken by myself, one pic of his Coaches Licence (awarded in 1958, first year the FA awarded them) one of him holding The FA Cup in 1972 (LUFC winners 1972) and one pic which is a screen grab of numerous movies/tv shows etc, amazing nowadays that we need permission to use photos of my father? who owns the rights?

PS there is no link to email you on LH Side of your page mentioned

You do - if you took the pictures then you own the rights to them, and can 'release' them for use on Wikipedia. Not sure why the e-mail isn't showing, maybe it's because you're a new account. GiantSnowman 22:22, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
