Hi Amy! Welcome back - I hope you've had a good little holiday. How did you break your arm?!? I see you've used the teahouse, it's great how fast people are replying there, isn't it! I've got a couple of things I do want to discuss with you though.

Firstly, your full name. You mentioned it on your page, which is a bad idea. Once people have your full name it's much easier to piece information together to find out who you actually are. I can delete it for you though, if you like. There's a whole essay on things you should and shouldn't do, which I do recommend you read - Guidance for younger editors

Secondly, I've noticed a bit of a mess at All Over the Place. Generally, moving things is quite complicated - and if you don't mind, I'd like you to not do another move without discussing it with me beforehand. There's quite a few areas you went a bit off track, and though it's ok how it's ended, I thought we should go over them.

You tried to add a "For the..." link here. They're done using a template: {{about|the album|the children's TV show|All Over the Place (TV series)}}. We cover templates in a later lesson.
I didn't see any evidence that you had thought about which All Over the Place was most common. It might be that the album is known 10x as much than the tv show - in which case the main page should link to the album.
All Over the Place should be a page. Be it a disambiguation page, the album or the tv show. It shouldn't be a redirect.
You moved the album to a song - which it wasn't...
Now that it's all settled, there's a whole load of links which used to go to the right place which now don't. You can see them at Special:WhatLinksHere/All Over the Place. As the person who made the move, it's your responsibility to tidy up after yourself, making sure those links all go to the right place now.

Generally moves like this are sorted out at requested moves because there's so much to think about. Are you alright leaving moves alone for the time being? I can go and sort out All Over the Place for you if you like. Worm^TT · (talk) 08:17, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there! Thanks for the lovely welcome and sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner. I broke my arm because of a clumsy mistake I did at the stables but do not worry as it is getting better. I have just finished reading the essay you sent me and found it to be extremely enlightening but found a part that puzzled me "don't use your real name for your username. Don't post photos of yourself, your friends, or family on your user page." I have looked around before and saw a LOT of users who do. There could be a lot of people that share the same name as me so I just assumed it will be alright. It scared me that by just providing my full name people can trace me down. I only provided it to Cyberpower because I thought he wanted to know. Also about the moving pages thing, I am really very extremely sorry for doing so and will never movve a page without your permission again. Please can you help me tidy it all up? Glad to hear your arm is getting better. I've never actually broken a bone in my body, except possibly my little toe, which some people say you break every year. It sounds horrible though, so good on you for being so brave about it! The recommendations on that essay are just that, recommendations. The fact is that as a younger person, you're more likely to be targetted by some terrible people out there. If something like that ever does happen, don't hesitate to tell your parents, whatever the person might say. You can always come to me on that too, though I'm still a random on the internet, and the parents should be the first port of call!

Don't worry about the moving pages, I've mucked up there myself a few times. I'll sort out the mess

It's not really that horrible, I mean I thought it was just a sprain before I got it checked over at the hospital. We had a few workshops with police officers at school so I have a fair idea about the do's and don't's on internet safety. I also heard that if you click your knuckles they get a bit dislocated but I'm not sure if that's true. Do you mind giving me an overview of the lessons in this course or is it all a bit of a surprise? Thanks for helping out with the moves

Well, that doesn't sound too bad. My sister's boyfriend got caught in a tackle at rugby and broke his leg a week or so ago, was in agony. He's on the mend now, but it required an operation, which does sound pretty horrible. Not good as they're meant to be getting married this summer! I'm pretty confident that clicking your knuckles doesn't dislocate them (unless you push FAR to hard!) - it's actually closing pockets of gas in the amneotic fluid between your joints. In fact, one Dr. Donald Unger only cracked the knuckles on his left hand for 60 years, to show that there was no harm done to the hand. The big problem is that no one likes the sound!

As for the adoption course, there's 8 lessons:

Five Pillars - explains the basics that wikipedia stands on
Wikiquette - discusses how to talk to editors, using indents and assuming good faith
Copyright - explains how copyright on a "free" encyclopedia works - what images you can use and what you can't.
Dispute resolution - in case you do have any disagreements, gives you methods for moving forward.
Deletion - methods for deleting articles
Policy and consensus - talks about how policy is formed and how to use consensus.
Templates - tells you how to use templates, and how to edit them
Vandalism - lets you know a bit about what vandalism is, and how to deal with it.

There's a test that goes with each lesson, which is designed to get you thinking, and checks if you've actually understood what the lesson is about. There's not really any "right or wrong" answers. Help please?[edit]

I know this hasn't got much to do with my adoption but I'm really worried at the moment. People have been saying that someone has impersonated me on Wikipedia. Can you please explain whats happened as I'm really confused. Androzaniamy (talk) 10:45, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm hoping this has been answered by other people, but if I can help, I will. All that happened is that someone created an account with a very similar name to you. They did this, so that other people on wikipedia might think you are the same person, and then proceeded to get themselves blocked. I believe they hoped you would be blocked too. This happens quite regularly on wikipedia, and unfortunately, unless we have strong suspicions who did it, there's not much we can do to find out.

If it makes you feel any better, it happened to me. User:Worm that Turned 1 User:Worm that Turned 2 User:Worm that Turned 3 User:Worm that Turned 4 User:Worm that Turned (Doppelgänger) and 5-10 other accounts were all created to impersonate me. Worm^TT(talk) 21:13, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, as a user on wikipedia, almost no one can see any information about you that you do not give. All they see is your username, which you can access because you have the password. There are about 30 people out there who have slightly more access, they can view your IP address and some other information about the computer you've logged in on. There are strict requirements to becoming one of those people, and they are known as "checkusers". Everything they do is logged, so they can't abuse it, and they have to have reasonable cause to use that tool, and keep the information private. Worm^TT(talk) 11:01, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
