I would like to learn more about the code that you put in the editing window. Please direct me in the right direction. Writer freak Contributions 11:15 5-14-15 (UTC)
- If you're asking about your proposed signature, you may want to take a look at WP:Signatures, particularly WP:SIGLENGTH. Yours seems to be over the 255 character limit by quite a bit. Personally I'd advise against the over-use of colors and font styles. In particular your code seems to be missing a </span> at the end. Huon (talk) 16:19, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

- For a very short overview of wiki markup, see the cheatsheet. For more detailed advice, check out Help:Wiki markup. On an unrelated note, your signature is currently faking the timestamps; please get that fixed as soon as possible. Personally I'd advise you to simply use the default signature. [edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Maglev. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 16:30, 18 May 2015 (UTC)

Miscellany deletion
[edit] Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your user page may not meet Wikipedia's user page guideline. If you believe that your user page does not violate our guideline, please leave a note on this page. Alternatively you may add {{Db-userreq}}
to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it, or you can simply edit the page so that it meets Wikipedia's user page guideline. Thank you. Jamesarmistead25 (talk) 18:23, 20 May 2015 (UTC)jamesarmistead25
@NeilN: Can you tell Jamesarmistead25 that my user page is okay? Thanks. Writer freak Contributions 18:25, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Jamesarmistead25: I see nothing wrong with that user page. Please explain why you believe it violates Wikipedia's guidelines. Huon (talk) 00:12, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Jamesarmistead25: This is not cool. Quit it. Writer freak Contributions 15:21, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Writer freak: the reason i tagged ur account for deletion is because you tagged mine. That is not acceptable. It violates Wikipedia's guidlines for no reason deletion.

Blocked. Please don't use Wikipedia to play games
[edit]As seen above, you've already made an administrator waste time on trying to stop one of your accounts (User:Jamesarmistead25) from being mean to your other account (User:Writer freak). Compare this check of your accounts. I've blocked both accounts. If you're actually interested in editing articles (adding silly tags doesn't count), please tell me below (you can still edit this page, though no other) which account you want to use, and I'll unblock it. Bishonen | talk 17:45, 22 May 2015 (UTC).
@Bishonen: I am very sorry that I was fooling around on a very serious website like this. I promise to not have silly conversations and will actually edit articles to my knowledge. Also, I do not have 2 accounts. Jamesarmistead25 is just one of my friends from school. He jokes around with me all the time. I am sorry. Also, it is not polite to assume things about people. I like sending wikilove to my friend because he is nice to me. He is impersonating me because he thinks that it is a joke. Writer freak Contributions 17:49, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
@Bishonen: This is not nice at all. Writer freak Contributions 18:00, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
@Bishonen: Please unblock me and my friend, Jamesarmistead25. Writer freak Contributions 18:01, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
@Bishonen: I know that I have made some mistakes. Nobody is perfect. Writer freak Contributions 18:02, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- The accounts may represent two people, but you're obviously having some trouble remembering which is which, see this edit, where "James" first impersonated NeilS and then said his "cousin" had done it. I recommend reading WP:LITTLEBROTHER and also this policy about friends editing together. And no, you can't use the Writer freak account any more. I've already unblocked the "James" account, since that account apologized on this page, and one of you is enough. If you think I unblocked the wrong account, please explain why below, and I can change it. But I will not have both accounts loose on the site. Bishonen | talk 18:05, 22 May 2015 (UTC).
- @Jamesarmistead25: Not cool, dude. Quit. Writer freak Contributions 18:09, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Bishonen: Please have mercy on me!!! My friend can get weird sometimes. Writer freak Contributions 18:10, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Bishonen: Writer freak has apologized and you should give him back his priveleges
- @Bishonen: Yes, that was my friend. Look at history if you don't believe me. Writer freak Contributions 18:19, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Bishonen: To be more specific, Jamesarmistead25 told you that you should give my back my priveleges Writer freak Contributions 18:22, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Bishonen: Look below. Happysquirrel is requesting that my account be unblocked, because he is a nice person. At least 1 person is fair to me. Cough...Cough... Writer freak Contributions 18:22, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Bishonen: I know that you made a mistake. Everybody does. Even I have made mistakes, too. Writer freak Contributions 18:26, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
Possibly relevant message at my talk page
[edit]I understand Writer Freak is blocked for generally disruptive behaviour. I am posting this message he posted to my talk page and my response because I believe it indicates some pre-block intent to at least try to edit helpfully. He also can't reply on my talk page, so I thought the thread should be here. For context, this was in reply to a message I left him offering to help him find articles to edit:
- Can you tell me what articles I can improve? Thanks! Writer freak Contributions 17:10, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Writer freak: You say you like history. Try Gwanggaeto the Great. It currently has lots of content, but only two sources. Try to find more sources for information in the article. Google books is your friend here. If you come across new information, you can also add it. Korea and Asia in general tend to have a certain amount of historical revisionism, so you will also want to look at whether some parts may only be presenting one side of a story. Your goal should be to get the article to the point of removing the citations needed tag. Are you up for the challenge? Happy Squirrel (talk) 17:50, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- Regarding your interest in computing, look at File copying. An unreferenced stub on a subject that crucial is just begging for a major upgrade. It needs sources and major expansion. File copying comes up all the time, so history, implementation, popular culture references etc. should be easy to find. See if you can bring it up at least to B-class. Happy Squirrel (talk) 17:56, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
I would like to suggest that if Writer freak is willing to concentrate all his efforts on wiki to these two articles for the next week, it may be reasonable to unblock him. This would be with the usual understanding that if he does not follow through, he will be re-blocked. From his edits, I think Writer freak is probably a young person who only needs a bit of structure to contribute productively. I am willing to supervise him and report him immediately to an admin if he acts up. I wouldn't be surprised if he and "James" are close school friends. I fear unblocking one but not both will lead to account sharing. Sorry if this is inappropriate. Happy Squirrel (talk) 18:13, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Happysquirrel: Thank you, thank you, thank you! Everything you said is true! Please superise me so that my beloved account can be unblocked. Writer freak Contributions 18:16, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- I suspect there may already have been some account sharing. But very well, you have been unblocked, Writer freak. Please stay away from James' page as much as possible, as Wikipedia is not a chatboard. Thank you for your offer to mentor the user, Happy Squirrel; please do, and please let me know if there are problems. Bishonen | talk 18:26, 22 May 2015 (UTC).
- Thank you Bishonen, I definitely will. And Writer freak, I would get editing if I were you. I will check. I have been informed by more than one child that I am "no fun at all" :) Happy Squirrel (talk) 18:30, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
Thanks!
[edit]- @Happysquirrel: Thanks! I will get editing! Writer freak Contributions 18:57, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
Request
[edit]- @Happysquirrel: Actually, do you mind if I help improve the Carlsbad Caverns article and the Maglev article(s)? I have school projects on them, so I will be visiting them a lot. Writer freak Contributions 17:06, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
- Sure. However, those are currently higher quality articles, so editors will be more strict about your edits. Be prepared that you may get reverted more often.
- I also have comments about your edits. In particular, I noticed that you made some changes that did not fit the style of the article. For example, you replaced a section header in the maglev article from "Development" to "Development of the maglev". This is not a huge problem, but since the whole article is about maglevs, we can assume the title "Development" refers to maglevs. Similarly, you replaced "wheeled trains" by "trains with wheels". This may be clearer for some people, but the language is less precise and concise. Your edits seem to have good content, but the quality of writing needs to improve. Your contributions are similar in style to children's books, but they need to look more like adult books. This is something you can learn with a little practice. It will be useful, not only on Wikipedia, but also at school. One trick is to start reading books for adults about subjects that interest you, like computers and history.
- Good luck, and thank you for being more focused. Happy Squirrel (talk) 19:03, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Happysquirrel: Thanks! I already read a lot of adult books, so that will be easy. Thank you for giving me feedback on my tone and question! I can tell that you are a wonderful person, and I am glad that you adopted me. Writer freak Contributions 17:06, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

Backlink question
[edit]@Happysquirrel: I would like to use a backlink on my user page. Can you tell me how a backlink works, what it does, and if it is appropriate on my user page? Writer freak Contributions 15:42, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Hello @Writer freak: I was wondering how you a put all of those banners for your qualifications. If you can, msg me on what to do.Jamesarmistead25 (talk) 18:10, 27 May 2015 (UTC)Jamesarmistead25
@Jamesarmistead25: First of all, stay away from me! Second of all, here is the code to make a list.Put {{userboxtop|My qualifications}} at the top and {{userboxbottom}} at the bottom. To find "banners" to put at the top, search "userboxes". From now on, stay away from me, as you will lose your account to Bishonen (or somebody else!) if you don't. Block James!
[edit]@NeilN: Can you block Jamesarmistead25 from my user page and talk page? I don't like it when he annoys me with pointless blabber, and I will get in trouble if he sends me any more messages. Thanks! Writer freak Contributions 18:17, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to User:Anythingyouwant, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 18:20, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
That's it
[edit]You were doing well and trying really hard, but now you have broken the promise you made to Bishonen and me when she unblocked you. I was lenient while you were only editing your own user page, but now you have templated Anythingyouwant and sent me a very misleading barnstar, as well as letting yourself get involved in a fight with James. I now admit I have failed to give you the guidance you badly need. I apologise for that, and I have informed Bishonen of the situation. Happy Squirrel (talk) 18:31, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
Blocked (again)
[edit]Writer freak, this is a reasonable edit. (Though there was no need to remove those red links — red links aren't bad, they can even encourage somebody to create the article). But anyway, it was reasonably useful, and you can see how it's one of a very few of your edits that have not been reverted. The rest of your editing since I unblocked you in good faith tends to show that Wikipedia is not a good fit for you. If you think you're in a "dispute" with Anythingyouwant about a word on his userpage, you're simply posting too randomly, not to mention annoyingly. Also, I've told you before that adding pointless tags to articles doesn't count as improving Wikipedia. Especially not when you simultaneously add two tags that contradict each other, as here: apparently you think the article is both too detailed, and not detailed enough. Nobody can make sense of what you mean unless you explain on the talkpage, which Theroadislong asked you to when he reverted you here. Did you do that? No, you simply added an update tag; then four more various (random) tags; and then reverted to your own version with the update tag, with the interesting edit summary "He was right". "He" who — would that be your cousin? Or Amanda Small, perhaps? I don't like the look of that, Writer freak. Happy Squirrel has given up too, as you see above. Anyway. I've reluctantly concluded you're not a good fit for Wikipedia, and have blocked you indefinitely. Very likely you're simply too young. Welcome back in a year or two. See the Standard offer. Bishonen | talk 22:10, 27 May 2015 (UTC).
