Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 17:05, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FFXIII .png File Upload Licensing Concern

[edit]

I only requested speedy delete for your images becasue they had a nonfree license tag, and were not being used on any articles. Under WP:CSD#I5 nonfree images that are not used qualify for speedy deletion. Plus you also hadn't provided the source of those images and also their purpose. Gman124 talk 16:36, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

see Pollocampero.jpg as an example, to see how much and what information is needed by nonfree images. Gman124 talk 16:38, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

also you just have to provide the site url from which you got the image for source, what is so hard about that. also see wp:non-free content. Gman124 talk 16:48, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I also added a welcome message at the bottom, so that you would have some links to go to if you are unsure about wikipedia policies. --Gman124 talk 16:53, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
One more thing why did you put the {{PD-author}} licencing tag on Sazh Katzroy*.png and other images you loaded. Final Fantasy is not realsed into Public Domain. They are copyrighted material. Please use one of the tags found here for non-free images. Gman124 talk 17:05, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dude, {{GFDL-self}} is only for when you are the original photographer, artist, or license holder, and you are prepared to release the content under this free license. In the case of Final Fantasy the images are copyrighted, just because the company gave some of the images to the media for promotional purposes doesn't eliminate their copyright. Gman124 talk 17:16, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think the following tag {{Non-free promotional|image_is_of_living_person=no}} would be appropriate for the images of the characters. As an example it is used on Subzero mkvsdc.jpg. Also could you also sign your posts because most of the time you forget to. You just have to enter the four tilde (~~~~) to sign. Gman124 talk 17:20, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am not really sure about where the 3D art tag would be used. I you want to you can you it. Personally I prefer the Non Free promotional since these images were released for promotional purposes. Gman124 talk 17:36, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it would be approperiate for me to delete your talk (sure when I post something and don't like it I reword and remove some parts) Also I had only placed tags on the for images that got deleted, I haven't placed the speedy tags on any other images you downloaded. Gman124 talk 17:40, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, if you want something deleted that only you have edited you can place the following tag {{db-author}} to request deletion Gman124 talk 17:42, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing I am not an administrator on this wiki, I had only requested those images' deletion, through one of the csd tags. Gman124 talk 17:45, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed the tags, since you answered the concern. But I don't think you need someone else to remove that tag. I think you are free to remove them once you have addressed the concern. Gman124 talk 17:50, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Finishing image issues -- notice

[edit]

Since you have said you are ok with having the images deleted and you would prefer to make a composite images, I have done so. All the image data is now copied to User:XCosmoX/Image data if you need a copy of it. Since you don't need Wikipedia copies of the images to do your work (you can make a composite just by finding them on external websites) I am removing the images for now. Further discussion of whether or not a composite image is necessary can continue at Talk:Final Fantasy XIII. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 14:25, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Does this mean you want to have the image deleted? I wasn't sure what you meant, so I didn't delete it right away. If you do want it deleted, you can request deletion by adding {{db-author}} to the top of the image description page. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 16:47, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
