List of current UFC fighters

[edit]
  • While I understand your interest in ordering these fighters along a "notoriety" or "ability" guideline, such a system would be almost impossible to maintain as it would be reflective of your personal taste only. The format by which this page is currently organized is the closest that can be gotten to a "how famous/talented is each fighter" index while being entirely maintainable, which is just to order fighters by how often they've fought with the UFC, this keeps the people everyone sees all the time at the top and the new fighters at the bottom, and all the rest in the middle. It's not perfect, but no organization system could be perfect. If this page were to be organized alphabetically it would end up feeling like a mess of random fighters with the most famous scattered throughout and thus difficult to pick out. I have considered making the rankings based on a plus minus system where fighters with the largest win differential would be organized first to last, but that seems like an incredibly obtuse method and would be more difficult for most casual users to figure out. If you would like to discuss potential changes to this page I would be happy to hear your opinions in the talk section. I am always interested in ways of improving this article and any input is valued. Thaddeus Venture (talk) 18:06, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Was it possible you were simply attempting to contribute to a page that was semi-protected (see Wikipedia:Semi-protection)? If you saw an message saying "view source", then this is what happened. SwisterTwister talk 06:46, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
