Cambridge Centre

[edit]

I think you are over sensitive to deleting the Cambridge Centre article. In my opinion it is not "sloppy" and presents valid facts on an important building. I have seen much sloppier articles, such as that for Fairview Park which you should be more concerned about deleting. Instead of automatically considering it for deletion, be optimistic and work on improving it yourself.

I think i am doing this right, I am new so if I screw something up I am sorry. I would like to have my page undeleted, I wrote something in the talk page, I don't know if it is still there, let me know if I need to remake my case or not.

I went a head and remade my case because I couldn't find my old one, please let me know when you can. Some one else responed, I would like to know if he is right. TheMaleSeahorse 21:46, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you're welcome. In addition to fixing the links, I listed the nomination at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/2007 March 5 using the {{afd3}} template. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. --KFP (talk | contribs) 23:19, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Most importantly, you didn't do the third step of Template:AfD in 3 steps. Also, the "pg" parameter in {{afd2}} (step 2) should be just "article name", not "article name (second nomination)". Cheers, --KFP (talk | contribs) 23:32, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnic-group lists deletion discussions

[edit]

Hi, I noticed you participated in at least one of these three deletion discussions:

All three discussions have similar issues but are leaning in different directions, so you may want to participate in the others, if only for the sake of consistencey and to avoid accusations that Wikipedians are being unfair to some group or groups (which is something that concerns me). I'm asking everyone who participated in one discussion to participate in the others. I apologize for bothering you if you already have participated in the others. Best wishes, Noroton 04:34, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I noticed that Selketbot didn't tag this IP when I posted a message on the talk page--this IP is registered as "Georgia Institute of Technology". I went ahead and tagged it. Hope this is helpful to you. --Xnuala 19:25, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. SelketBot is a computer and so is not always perfect. It looks for keywords like "College" and "University" in the name of the IP address owner. Putting Institute in leads to too many false positives. Leaving it out leads to a few false negatives like the one you found. Thanks for tagging it. -- Selket Talk 19:51, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, i understand exactly what you mean, but because there is obviously a sock-puppet element to this article's re-creation i added a tag to identify that it had been recreated. By all means, revert my edit(s) and put the bio tag back up if that is what you believe should be there- i was just following instincts, i didn't bother looking at policy. Re: Template help

[edit]

(in reply to User talk:Ben#Template help)

Hi Ben, rumour has it that you are a bit of a template whiz around here :)! I was wondering if you could help me out with a particular problem I've been having whilst trying to disambiguate Media. I have found that Template:Infobox Comedian contains "medium" as a category, and "medium" links to "media". As I am not at all versed in editing and maintaining templates, I wonder if you would mind helping me out with this? Right now, every page that uses this template links to the disambiguation page. Thanks!--Xnuala (talk) 01:10, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Do you mean, "In which sense of 'medium' or 'media' does this template use that word?" Some comedians do stand-up comedy on stage, some act in movies and on TV, some do both, etc. For instance, Robin Williams has "Medium: stand-up comedy, actor". If you are looking at the page Template:Infobox Comedian, click "What links here" and follow the links; you'll be able see how that and other details have been filled in for various comedians. If this isn't what you wanted to know, please help me understand your question a bit better. Thanks! -- BenTALK/HIST 01:48, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize if I was unclear in my question. The issue that I am having is that the template links to a disambiguation page, rather than to an article that actually provides information to the reader. Is it possible to remove the link from the word "medium", since I don't believe any of the disambiguation options is appropriate in this case. I really appreciate your reply!--Xnuala (talk) 01:52, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Done. The template now uses a popup title to explain what "Medium" means (when you hover your cursor over the word). I hope that helps! -- BenTALK/HIST 02:01, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Eskap

[edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Eskap, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. - Tiswas(t/c) 15:23, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm not sure why you are informing me about this article. I disambiguated a link, I was not the original author. Thanks!--Xnuala (talk) 10:21, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Better safe than sorry :) - Tiswas(t/c) 10:22, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
